Almost done with the first part. There will be a second part to this and I'm already starting to write it. It's just taking a bit longer than I thought. I have a general idea of where I want to go with it, the problem is getting there smoothly.

“Why don’t you both come inside?” Marcus’ voice told them it wasn’t really a question. It was an order.

“Rhiley, you go on upstairs with Rachelle. I need to speak with Tyler.” She was about to protest but he hardened his stare and she couldn’t refuse. Giving Tyler one last ‘sorry’ look, Rhiley made her way up to where Rachelle was folding laundry on their bed in the master bedroom.

“Need some help?” She asked as she joined her at the bedside.

“Always. Laundry is never done.” Rachelle laughed lightly.

“What do you think they’re talking about?”

“Not a clue. It’s best to leave them be.”

Down in the living room, Tyler sat nervously on the couch. Marcus was off to his side seated in the arm chair, gazing at him with calculating eyes.

“I’ve never had too much of a problem with Rhiley hanging around you and Brendon before. Maybe I should have been clearer with the rules.” His tone was relaxed but both mean were anything but. Tension was thick in the air, making it hard to breathe.

The muscles in Tyler’s jaw tensed to open so he could speak. Before any sound could come out he was on the ground with a tightly gripped hand around his throat. Marcus growled in his face, eyes blazing with anger.

“She may not be my flesh and blood daughter but I care for her like she is. You take advantage of her and dare come to my home?” Tyler’s face was a deep shade of red before Marcus slammed his blonde head down and finally let go.

Tyler coughed but got to his feet quickly. He wasn’t going to submit to Marcus.

“I haven’t found my mate yet but Rhiley’s mark is on my shoulder. Explain to me how I took advantage of her.” For a split second he saw Marcus was shocked but it was already gone.

“That coincidence means nothing to me. You were too blind with lust to even think about what you were doing.” He glanced upstairs before getting in the young Alpha’s face once again, “I don’t care if you are her mate, I don’t care if you are an Alpha. I especially don’t care that you’ll be in a different state. I will always be watching. The first I hear of you hurting her in any way, I will hunt you down and rip you to shreds. If you dare to put your hands on her in my home,” He couldn’t even finish his sentence. Marcus was almost bursting out of his skin. Seconds after he slammed the back door, almost bending the hinges, the women came down the stairs.

Rhiley could feel Tyler’s emotions as if they were her own. Anxious, anger, and dominance.

“Let’s go. As long as you don’t rip off my door, you can drive.” She handed him the keys and felt him relax just a little.

She’s been to his house before, many times actually, but never went inside. Walking up to the front door, she was all nerves.

“What all do they know again?” Tyler stopped on the front porch and turned her toward him.

“Everything, including that we’re leaving. They’re going to love you as much as – everyone else.” He was going to say something else but stopped himself. She had a feeling she knew what he wanted to say and was thankful he didn’t. It didn’t seem like the right time.
