Breakfast

-Kei's POV-

Its a bright saturday morning and I woke up when I felt the sun beaming on my face.

Since its just 7 AM and its my day off, I decided to have a little jog outside, its been a while & the weather also feels nice.

After 20 minutes straight of jogging, I felt a slight exhaustion so I went to the nearest vending machine and grabbed a water and while I was drinking, I felt someone tapping my shoulders from behind.

"Uhmmm, hi?" I turned around and to my shock it is yumi's sister.

"Oh! Hey, yuriko. Whats up?"

"I saw you while I was walking from the convenient store. I thought of saying hi, and actually I never had the chance to say thank you for looking after my sister last time."

"Haha! Thats alright, it wasnt a big deal. And you were right, she was clumsy." I let out a small laugh when I thought about it.

"Right? Sometimes I feel like the older one" she chuckled.

"By the way, have you had your breakfast? You might wanna join us. I am making pancakes."

"Eh? Wouldnt it bother your sister?"

"What? Why? No, she will be happy to see you."

I heard my stomach rumbling and I am pretty sure she heard it too, I realized that the only thing I had this morning is the water I got from the vendo.

She tried not to laugh with the sound of my stomach but I heard her giggle.

"I wouldnt take a no." She gave me a look and started walking without waiting for my reply.

-Yumi's POV-

Its finally the weekend and I am somewhat relieved that I wont have to suffer another awkward day at work.

I got off my bed and went out of my room and on to the kitchen, I saw a little note on the fridge:

"Rise and shine sister, I am out to buy something. Dont panic when you dont find me in my room."

Always so cheeky that kid, she even drew a huge smiling face.

I went to the bathroom to freshen up, I was singing while scrubbing my face and looking at the mirror.

I turned off the faucet and heard foot steps outside. It must be yuri, I opened the door, with soap still on my face.

"What did yo-"

"Great voice!"

My jaw dropped. What is he doing here?!

I didnt utter a word and immediately slammed the door.

I washed my face. Maybe I am still sleepy. This cant be. What is that guy doing at my apartment at this time of the day?!

I try to look normal as I step out of the bathroom.

He was still there. Standing behind the kitchen counters helping yuri with whatever she's doing.

Calm down, yumi.

"Nee-san! What happened to you, you look flustered."

"What? No." Lie.

"I invited Kei for breakfast. We ran to each other at the vending machine. You dont mind do you?"

I didnt know the right answer so I just nodded.

"Hmm, what are you making?"

"Pancakes. I brought a maple syrup for you."

"Thanks."

I tried glancing on Kei but he was too engrossed in whipping the batter to even notice me.

I opened the television and sat at the sofa. I try not to look at them but it bothers me that my sister and Kei are acting so friendly, so I turn around and peaked.

To my surprise, he was looking at me. Straight into my eyes, and there he was giving me his annoying smirk when he saw me looked at him.

"Breakfast is ready!" Yuri shouted.

I stood up and joined them in the table. Even though its awkward, i feel really hungry right now.

I sat beside yumi and infront of him.

"So, nee-san, what's your plan today?"

"Its your most awaited weekend"

"Yeah, but i really have nothing planned out."

"You should go out, watch a movie, go to the spa or somethin." She can barely talk because her mouth is so full.

"Yeah i will manage, and please finish your food before speaking."

She swallowed the last slice of her pancakes before she said something that almost made me choke.

"Go with out with Kei, have a friendly date, he looks like a great company."

For a moment I felt cold and I didnt know how to react. I looked at Kei and he also felt uncomfortable.

Trying not to look too obvious, I crossed my arms & laughed nervously.

"You dont tell me what to do, and its called 'me time' for a reason"

"Yeah, she's right." Kei finally spoke. He smiled but I can see that he looked disappointed.

"Yeah whatever. I am just suggesting." Yuriko smirked, she stood up and excused herself.

Now, I am alone with him with this awkward air around us.
