In another time

Disappointed

2nd day.

- Kei's POV -

Oh no! I am running late! This cant be, its only my 2nd day. Why did I even stayed late for that game! Ughhhhhhhh. I hope I make it on time.

Kei was running along the streets when he saw someone familiar outside an apartment building.

Eh? Isnt that Yumi? does she stay near my neighborhood? Should I call her? But I am running late. Isnt she supposed to be in the store?

Kei finally reached the bus stop, but he was still wondering why Yumi was there.

- Yumi's POV -

Ugh this cant be real, i feel awfully sick. I need to call Jin to let him know I am coming late to work today.

"Good Morning Jin, sorry to call you so early but I feel really sick this morning. Can I come at a later time?"

"Are you sure you can still report to work? Its alright yumi, I can find someone to cover your shift, just rest."

"No, its okay, besides I have a trainee I need to attend. I'll be coming today."

"Okay if thats what you say. Feel better."

"Thanks boss."

Kei finally arrived at the store 5 minutes before the start of his shift.

Jin greeted him with a smile. "Oh there you are, you barely made it on time."

"Yes, I am sorry, i ran my way here."

"Its alright, Yumi called that she will be reporting late today, she said she was sick. For the mean time I will let Aya help you out."

- Kei's POV -

I hope she's okay.

I was looking forward to seeing her today. I hope she'll come.

For the meantime I need to focus on my training.

Jin instructed him to wear his apron and approach aya who was waiting for him outside.

"Uhm, excuse me. I am the new trainee, my name is Kei, Jin told me to approach you "

"Oh yes, Hi. I am aya, I am one of the baristas here. Nice to meet you. I will be incharge just for this morning. so lets start?"

Kei felt nervous. But he just smiled and nodded.

Aya started teaching him the basics and showed him the ingredients he needs to familiarize.

"You're doing great! you learn fast. yumi will be pleased" Aya tapped him on the shoulders.

"Really? thank you, I am enjoying this."

"thats good to hear, for now you can have your break. Come back after 15 minutes."

-Kei's POV-

I guess that was a great start. Theres so much to learn but I am enjoying it.

Aya seems nice too, she is very approachable and kind. but how I wish it was yumi who was teaching me.. Is she going to come today?

I saw Jin in the office talking to someone and he looked a bit concerned. I wonder what happened.

15 minutes ended in a flash and Kei continued his training with aya.

"Everyone, Yumi wont be able to report today seems like she is really sick."  Jin informed them

"Eh? Is she okay?" Aya asked worriedly.

"I hope so she's alright" Kei whispered and let out a small sigh.

Aya and Kei continued with their training until they called it a day.

It was time to go home. Kei was a bit disappointed that he didnt get to see yumi at work today but he hopes she's okay.

"I kinda miss her smile."
