little pond

I walk into the park. Eyes scanning the environment. I then spot them. Looking so happy. Being so happy. I was happy too. Happy for them. But I just couldn't stand it. I took to my heels doing what I do best. Run. I ran like my life depended on it.

But the grounds thought other wise. Pulling me back to the spot I ran from. Giving an even clearer view. It kept me rooted in place, watching my nightmare unfold.

Was it raining? No it wasn't. It was just my hot tears dripping to the ground. Knowing that they didn't notice me. I felt invincible. Worst I felt sad like countless daggers were being fired at me but that would have been a lot better.

I looked to the ground noticing it was getting really wet. Like water was flowing in but only around me. This couldn't be rain now could it? If it was they would have been wet but they were still happily together.

The water formed a small pond around me. Growing with each sob. I peel my eyes off my nightmare to see the pond reach my knees.

From a pond, to a lake and to what I think was a sea. I called for help but no one could hear me. I stopped crying so it wouldn't drown me but it kept coming. Why?
I wiped my tears but the water didn't stop and seconds later it was like I was thrown into the ocean. An inevitable death right there.

But....

I saw a light. The same light. Blazing
Calm enough to warm me
But hot enough to burn me.....
