It was a few days later, Thursday, and things seemed pretty normal, other than Gabby stopping Nerris in the halls a few times over the course of three days. Harrison tried to start conversations at school, but she didn't seem too interested. He texts her somewhat, usually on the days she seems a bit more friendly. But usually she'd just ignore the texts after a while or make up an excuse to end their conversation.
Nerris did get picked on for her elf ears and cape by Gabby and one of her friends. That didn't bother her much, though. She'd just tell herself they were insecure and needed to point out the flaws on someone else, then she'd carry on with her day.
She had no time to waste on bitchy girls. She had her own life to maintain, and those girls weren't going to interfere with that. She wouldn't let that happen. . . Again. It had happened at her last school, with some people she'd rather not remember. They were the worst. But, they weren't a part of her life anymore. She had moved and tried to refrain from thinking about them. She had better things to do.

"Harrison, I swear, if you keep trying to show me these dumb magic tricks..." Nerris complained, seeming annoyed. It was lunchtime and Harrison wanted to show her a few tricks, even though he knew she wouldn't be impressed. Secretly, she was impressed. She even wanted to try to learn a few of those tricks herself, but she'd never admit it, especially not to him.
He let out a small sigh of defeat, resting his head on his right hand as he looked in the other direction. They weren't really doing anything, sense they don't eat lunch at school, but they stayed in the cafeteria anyway.
Nerris was on her phone, scrolling through pictures to pass time while Harrison sat there, debating whether he should practice a few tricks or not. The last time he practiced in school, it resulted in some kids getting their trays of food shoved into their faces on accident. Of course, everyone knew exactly who did that.
Harrison wasn't necessarily bullied at school, but people seemed to be slightly afraid of him. It reminded him of his parents. He hated how everyone seemed so scared of him. It made him feel like an outcast. Like he didn't belong. That's why he loves Camp Campbell. It makes him feel normal. No one acts like he's some abnormal monster.
He glanced over at Nerris, examining her. He noticed every detail, and he noticed if anything was different. It sounded a bit creepy, honestly, but he couldn't help it. He thought she was beautiful, and he has since he met her.
It took her a few moments to realize he was staring at her. She looked up from her phone, locking eyes with him. "What're you looking at?" She asked curiously. He snapped back into reality. "Nothing!" He answered quickly, looking away. She raised an eyebrow at him, but soon dismissed it and continued playing around on her phone.
Harrison's face had turned a light shade of pink. He glanced around the cafeteria to distract himself. Everything seemed fine, until he saw Gabby approaching the table. He let out a small sigh as she advanced over, sitting next to him. "Hey Harri~" she cooed with a smirk.
Nerris glanced over then scooted a bit farther from Harrison and Gabby. Harrison rested his head on his arm lazily, spacing out while Gabby went on about god knows what. He honestly couldn't care less.
As he zoned out, Nerris watched quietly from the sidelines. She tried not to, but it was hard. She couldn't help but feel just a bit jealous. She didn't even know why. She didn't like Harrison. Right?
'That's nonsense! I don't like him!' She thought to herself. 'Then... why do I feel jealous?' Now she was confused. She tried to dismiss the thoughts altogether, and it actually worked for a short while.
Once lunch was over, Gabby went back to her friends. Before she left the cafeteria, she shot Nerris a warning glance. Nerris tried not to think about it, after all, Gabby was just some insecure bitch, right?
A few moments after Gabby left, Harrison looked over to Nerris, but she had already gotten up to leave. He spotted her near the door before she walked out into the halls, her shoulders drooping slightly.
He sighed before getting up slowly and walking toward the cafeteria doors. He wondered why she looked a bit sad or disappointed, but soon shrugged it off. He walked out into the halls and continued with his day.

It was a few hours later, and everyone was waiting to leave. Nerris saw Gabby bothering Harrison outside, but didn't think to get him away from her. She stood by idly and watched. She still didn't know why she was feeling jealous.
'I obviously don't like him. I mean... he's Harrison. Why would I like him?' She thought to herself. Surely she didn't like him. She had despised him since camp, right? Never in a million years would she like Harrison...
She tried shrugging it off yet another time, but to no avail. Her thoughts were interrupted by Harrison running up to her. He had seemed to get Gabby off of his back for the time being.
She looked at him, waiting for him to say something sense she didn't want to start a conversation first. After a few moments of awkward silence, and him debating whether he should ask her a certain question or not, he finally spoke up.
"So uh. . . My parents won't be home for a while and I get pretty bored when I'm alone, so I was wondering if you wanted to come over...?" He asked, placing a hand on the back of his neck nervously.
Nerris' eyes widened slightly, but not enough for him to notice. 'FUCK. Should I make up an excuse or should I j- oh god he's waiting for me to answer.'
"I- uh... sure?" She blurted out, not knowing what else to say. A smile crept onto Harrison's face whilst Nerris mentally facepalmed. They began walking to his house, and Nerris started to wonder what she had gotten herself into.

Hm, what did Nerris get herself into? I suppose that'll be answered soon ;) but for now, please consider voting!
