"Ugggggh. You're fuckin' with me, right?" Will groaned.
"I am not, and this is extremely serious. This disease could be fatal, Mr. Solace." The doctor stated.
"Fatal?"
"The flowers that are growing now, if left untreated, can end up filling your lungs and suffocating you. Completely and utterly." She explained. Will went wide-eyed; the internet didn't talk about that. Though, no one that had died from Hanahaki could tell their stories. Because they'd be dead.
"How do you treat it?" Will questioned.
"The best way to do so is to get your love to be requited. Chances are, whomever you're in love with loves you too-I'd suggest confessing."
"And what if I'm not in love? What's the other treatments?"
"You are. That's easily answered. As I said, Hanahaki is born from unrequited love. I'd look closer at your life and find who it is. Or, there's a surgery,"
"Yeah? Tell me about the surgery."
"It gets rid of the flowers, and the disease, yes, but it's likely that you'll lose all memory of the person you're in love with-and never be able to know said person. And Hanahaki could return."
"How much does it cost to have the surgery?"
"Mr. Solace, I really cannot recommend-"
"Answer the question."
"... I'll write down the information for you now. But please, consider getting your love to be requited." The doctor told him.
He did consider, and then he decided he wouldn't. He wasn't in love with anyone, he knew that much. And he wasn't going to force someone to love him just to cure some shitty disease that he could deal with himself.
"Sure." He replied shortly.
"Here," The doctor handed him a small paper. "You're free to go."
"Thanks, peace." And Will walked out.
He got to his car, got a message from Nico-"Hang out tuesday, watch some shitty movie at my place?"-coughed up another handful of flowers. But there was no correlation there, right? Obviously.
"Sounds great" He texted back.
"Cool. Noon?"
"Perfect"
