Loud music, the scent of alcohol and dancing people. This was the place where I was, not because I wanted, because I let my friends drag me. I just stood there at the bar with my beer, looking at everyone else.
They all seemed happy, careless and free. Boys were dancing with girls and girls were dancing with their friends. All my friends were out there, probably dancing with some girl who they just met. And then, here I am. At the bar, looking at those people who just can be there selves.
My eyes examined the whole room, most of the people were already drunk or tipsy. But suddenly my eyes laid down on this one girl, who was just standing like me at the bar with not beer in her hand but a water bottle. She was looking at everyone until she saw me.
We made eye contact for some seconds, she looked away and just stared at the ground.
My friends always have told me that I shouldn't be afraid of talking to girls or that I have to live my life. For once in my life I've listened to them and walked over to that girl.
I knew that she would be different than all the other girls in this room, the way she was just standing there. She turned around and asked for another drink, I guess. The bartender nodded and just did what she told him to do. 'Hi,' I asked very nervously.
My voice was shaky and my head was probably red. When her eyes met mine and I could see her colour, this weird feeling rushed through my body. Nor I have never felt this. I could just drown in those perfect, green eyes of her. 'Hello,' she said with a little British accent and a smile.
We stayed the whole night, well the whole time that we were here together. Just talking about what we do, our opinions on global situations and interesting facts about us. She was the first one to leave, her friends were all drunk and she had to take care of them.
We said our goodbyes but when she closed the door behind her, I knew that I forgot something. There was no way that I would let her leave without having her number. I don't care if she's taken or she's not interested, i just wanted to talk to her whenever I can.
I'm not gonna lie when I say that I'm interested in her and I think it's more than friendship. I rushed over to the entry and saw her standing there with her phone at her ear, probably calling someone.
A sigh escaped from her lips and her drunk friends, two blonde girls, were just laughing. I walked over to her and saw that there was something in her eyes that made me want more of her knowledge, passion and kindness. 'What's wrong,' I carefully laid my hand on her shoulder, pulling her closer to me.
'There's no taxi that can bring us to our homes.' Another sigh left her lips and was quickly followed by a groan. 'Why did I ever agreed with coming here? It's, ugh, I never wanted to come, they made me come,' she told me with anger and frustration in her voice causing it to start shaking a little bit. 'I can bring you home, well all of you. I actually also want to leave this place,'
I truthfully said while the girls were just dancing around. We went to my car and dropped the two girls off at their place. She was still sitting next to me, enjoying the car ride.
'What about we just drive a little longer and see where we get,' I proposed, hoping that she would agree and come with me at this unexpected late night drive. 'What about we just drive where our hearts want to go,'
an adorable smile played on her lips when I turned over the steering wheel and let my mind decide where we were going. Headed in the dark, to a place that was unknown from us both.
