All night I try to sleep,
But haunting winds torment me.
Oh! For a glimpse of sweet peace,
Yet spectral forms harass me.Dashing forth like,
The Horsemen of the Apocalypse,
treading everything underfoot.Destruction that cometh like the Spinning Winds,
Wrecking this already spoiled earth.Memories of you,
That smart like an undying scourge!Like a wave that crashes against wanton forgetfulness
Thy words echo through my brain,
As though you were present in the pouring rain.A gust of wind which I thought,
A touch of your sweet caress I sought.A careless whisper in your ear,
Now lies on the wall, cold and drear......When I fain would have forgotten you,
When you fade like a passing shadow,Then will haunting winds torment me,
And spectral forms harass me,And pull me back to the Ides of March,
The last time I beheld with unshed tears,
One, who in a short time, I held too dear,
Pearly drops only shed,
When her words tore at my heartstrings,
Breaking through at the core of my soul.Hush! Acushla,
Do you not hear,
Some time at midnight when the moon is clear,
The sound of haunting winds,
Words tearing at heartstrings,
And spectres all with horror untold,
Breaking and crumbling the castle walls,
At the core of my soul......
