Presley POV
Three days later
Skyler was dressed in white and stood behind Kela and myself, waiting to see him, her arms linked with her fathers. As we began to walk to the sound of the music, spotting Drew at the end of the sandy aisle.
He was wearing a nice black tux, staring in awe when he laid his eyes on his beautiful fiancé. Wesley was dressed similar to him, Kenny standing next to him also in black. Finally they were face to face and as soon as her dad let go of her arm, she was reaching for his hand. He took it and pressed her fingertips softly to his lips. He couldn't care less that he was on the beach surrounded by his family and friends or that the reverend was speaking to him. All he could think about was how gorgeous she was. She was his girl.
She gently clawed her fingernail into his palm, bringing him out of his trance. The reverend repeated his statement and told him to proceed with his written vows. He dropped her hands for a moment, fumbling with the suit pockets as he frantically searched for his piece of parchment that he’d written his vows on. Wesley placed a hand on his shoulder and handed him the paper, giving him a thumbs up. He was shaking and blushing. He met her bright eyes as he unfolded the paper and held it out in front of him.
“I honestly can’t believe that you’re about to become my wife. I love you so much and I still haven’t got the slightest idea as to why you chose me to spend the rest of your life with. I don’t know what I would do if it was anyone but you standing here in front of me right now and all I can say is that I’m so happy that you showed up at they party that night. I love you from the bottom of my heart and I vow to always sing to you before you fall asleep and to dance with you when you’re grumpy. I vow to seize every opportunity to kiss you and to make you laugh. I vow to take care of you and to protect you from the harms of the world outside our front door. I vow to provide for you and our child and be the best father I can be. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love.”
A sigh escaped from his mouth as she squeezed his hands before she released one and dabbed at her eyes that were now glistening with tears. Kela and I were in the same state as her. She breathed a shaky laugh and took the paper that her own vows were written on from Kela. She gave another breathy laugh - something she had always done when she was nervous - and began her vows.
“I had never believed in love at first sight until I saw you. I've been through a lot before I met you, to much to go into but when I met you everything that went wrong in my life just, disappeared. And as our time spent together went on, I realized that you had this aroma around you that caused everyone you came in contact with to fall in love with you. You could’ve chosen anyone in the whole world to fall in love with and you chose me. I vow to always support you and go with you wherever life takes us. I vow to laugh at your lame jokes, even if they aren’t all that funny. I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness, and to have the patience that love demands. I vow to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they’re not, and to live within the warmth of your heart - and always call it home.”
