Chapter 25

Capricia's P.O.V

It was the next week, it was a Monday and at this point I didn't even know what month it was. Everything had been crazy for a past couple of weeks - I was reunited with Dmitri but no one could know that he was a really good friend of mine or I would be the one in trouble because well he is the leader of the Russian Mafia.

I had started dating Dino but of course no one could know that either because he was the freaking Italian Mafioso boss and honestly, I can't help but say that I really liked him. If someone had told me two years ago that I, Capricia Devitto would be in this ridiculous, dangerous situation that only happens in movies - I would have seriously asked you to get some professional help.

I looked down at my phone at it said it was the 30th of July 2018. This month had really blown past me. My birthday went by and honestly, I did not do anything special, mostly spend time with Dino 'working' as he told others but really it was the both of us in my room with some really good food, bottles of wine, cake and the dogs. My dad called me right when things between Dino and I were escalating well needless to say I was out breathe when I picked up the phone and had to lie that I was on a run.

I mean I am a grown-ass woman so why am I even hiding the fact that I was kissing someone or well dating - that is because my dad would literally be on the next flight here to meet this guy I am dating, and he would bring Leo and Cooper. I think in the back of mind I really would look forward to seeing if Cooper and Dino fought who would win but that's such a sadistic thought.

Moving on . . . It was almost 6 am and I decided to go for a run. The summer was almost over just another month left and from September I would start my job. I was about to start my job early but with everything that's been going on, I have wanted to spend more time with Dino and really give him a chance to find the person responsible for his father's death. We had had a very deep and meaningful conversation over the weekend after my birthday and he told me how he wanted to find the man who was responsible and not seek revenge but dissolve the mafias into one and hand it over to Rafa and leave.

He wanted to leave the Mafia. I don't know whether that was possible or that if this life would really let go of him but if he held up hope, I wasn't going to be the one who destroyed it. He told me how he had never told this to anyone not even Maria; his mom or Rafa because he doesn't think this was even possible, but he said with the help I have been providing, voluntarily of course he thinks there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I wore my running shoes, tied my hair up in a sleek ponytail and put in my earphones listening to Bebe Rexha: Expectations. This album relates to me on such a level that is blows my mind. I started with my run and was soon joined by Rafa running by myside. I don't really like running with people so I just decided to acknowledge his presence and then keep running. We both finished at the same lap.

"Good morning Rafa" I said as I caught my breathe.

"Morning, early run today?" he asked. He was wearing black sweat shorts and a plain grey t-shirt that was not drenched in sweat.

"Yeah, it's a Monday and I like to start my weeks early." I said as I took my earphones out. Rafa and the others had come back last week from Rome. The secret house they all were operating from had been discovered and they were basically attacked.

They all were pulling an all-nighter when they had got some new information about more members of the Mystery Mob's gang and while they were working, the house was gassed, and they left a long note on an arrow saying to back off or they would kill all members of the Empire one after the other and then move on to killing their women.

"Well that's a good start. Would you like to join me for some breakfast" said Rafa.

"I would but shouldn't we wait for everyone else, like Dino" I said as I walked past him and into the house from the galley.

"Well Boss called us for a meeting in exactly 30 minutes from now, so everyone should be there for breakfast" Rafa said as he looked down on his phone and informed me.

"Cool, I will see you in 25" I said as I took my sweaty-ass upstairs to freshen up. I opened my door and was whisked in a hug.

"Good morning beautiful, I thought I would come to wake you, but you weren't in bed" said Dino as I came chest to chest with him.

"Well I was on a run, now let go off me I stink!" I exclaimed as I tried to pull away.

"Just one kiss and I will see you downstairs for a breakfast meeting" said Dino.

"Oh yeah I know, Rafa informed me" I said as I kissed Dino.

"Bye Piccolo Tesoro" he said as he walked out the door and I shamelessly checked-out his ass. Man is he fine!!

I quickly took a shower, hand-dried my hair, tied it in a ponytail and threw on a yellow sundress before heading downstairs to the dining room.

Dino was sitting at the head of the table and smirked at me when I walked in the room. Others were also there - Rafael, Lorenzo, Paulo, Nikolai, Silvano and 7 other guys sitting (part of The Thirteen) and the other henchmen type guys standing at the end of the table. There was a chair empty next to Dino, so I headed there and sat down.

Dino rang the buzzer next to him and the maids came in pulling carts and laid an unopened plate in front of everyone on the table and a cup of Java and then quickly left. They shut both door of the dining room and there was pin-drop silence. The tension in the room rose and it made me feel pretty uncomfortable to be honest.

The henchmen and everyone else except Dino had sunglasses on. Which was the second thing Dino explained to me a few weeks ago that during meetings and stuff, the employees 'his gang members' are not allowed to directly look at the Boss as it is a sign of superiority. And according to Dino I don't have to because I am not his employee.

"Good morning . I have called this meeting with everyone today because we have to discuss what to do with the Russian 'Bratva' leader . . ." Dino trailed off.
