"Adira!" I felt a gentle shaking as someone called my name. "Adira, wake up!"

I rolled over and groaned. "Can I have just five more minutes."

"Nope." I rolled back over to look at my waker, seeing Billy standing beside me with the biggest grin on his face. "Did ya miss me?"

"Of course I did. Next time, let me sleep just a little bit longer, please?" I smiled at him, sitting up. I pushed my face out of my hair and looked down, seeing a mess of bags that in a pile on the floor. "Guess we need to take those down to the supply hut, huh?"

"Let's go!" Billy took my hand, tugging me out of bed. We collected the bags , taking them down to the supply hut. We dropped them off with a nod to Hayden, who had somehow managed to get her job changed.

After that was taken care of, I dropped Billy off to hang out with the other little kids.

"I'll come back and see you later," I said, ruffling his hair. "I have some things I need to take care of first."

"Wait, I have something for you," he said, unclipping something from the back of his pants. Dad's hat. I hadn't noticed it on him. He thrust it towards me, trying to hide the pin in his eyes. "I think you should have it."

I took it from him and placed it firmly on my head. "Thanks." I smiled and took of towards the center of our "village."

Roland and Travis were there, sitting on some logs and deep in conversation. I sat across from them, and they stopped talking.

"Did y'all take the stuff you got to the supply room?" I asked.

"Yeah, about five minutes after we got back. I think you had crashed already," Roland replied.

"How much sleep did you get?" I raised an eyebrow. We got back really late, and there was no way any of us had gotten much.

"Maybe three hours. Hard to tell sometimes." Travis shrugged. "Anyways, some of the hunters were busy while we were gone. Two deer, a rabbit, and I think a squirrel were caught. We're gonna have a lot of food to eat tonight." He licked his lips, causing me to roll my eyes. Roland laughed, and for a split second it felt as if we were normal teenagers, laughing about stupid things that shouldn't be funny. Not just teens that had been placed in a harsh environment to try to survive.

Once we'd pulled ourselves together it seemed as if there was nothing to do. There's not really anything entertaining or extra you can do during the apocalypse. And when you have nothing to do, you spend that time in boredom, just as I was.
