THE ARRANGED LOVE

Chapter 9

LIAM'S POV

As I lifted my head up to see the intruder that has created chaos in my life, I was in for a shock. Kate, that's her name from what I have been told, is a site to behold. All my thoughts about trying to change her mind about marrying me goes down the drain. She isn't the type of girl that I usually date. She isn't the barbie doll with lots of makeup and skimpy clothes kind of girl. But there is something about her simplicity that makes me want to pull her over and kiss her senselessly right there and then. No doubt she is beautiful. Well I'd give dad 10 on 10 for getting me a bride with good looks, but as they say, 'don't judge a book by its cover.'

As the night goes by and we try to have a normal conversation, I cannot help but think about how it would feel like to have this beautiful woman who is sitting opposite me in my bed naked. The things I could do to her. As much as I am getting this overwhelmed by this, I hold that thought. Dammit what am I even thinking. This isn't what I am here for.

After dinner and dessert, we take a walk around. I look to my right to see Kate shivering. I take off my jacket and put it around her shoulders. She turns to me with a smile and thanks me. " I hope that you are having a good time with me." I say. "Surprisingly I am." Kate says. "And why are you surprised, if I may ask." I am eager to know why she would have thought otherwise.

"It's just that I never pictured you as the type to just have a normal conversation with. From what I have heard, I thought of you as the arrogant, egoistic and self-absorbed kind of guy, who wouldn't take interest in a girl like me." " A girl like you?" I questioned. " I mean look at me. I am just a plain Jane. I am not like those models that you usually go out with. I was really surprised that you even showed up to dinner tonight." I try to say something but she stops me.

"Please let me finish." Kate says with her head held high and I just shut my mouth. Wow she is a tigress. This just turns me on. "Go on, I am listening." She takes a deep breath and continues what she wants to say.

"When my dad told me that he had arranged my marriage to his best friend's son I was in great shock. I had not planned to get married any time soon. However, when I saw how happy my family looked when they were talking about it, I just couldn't say no to them. So I agreed to have dinner with you. But I am really curious to know why a guy as rich, handsome and powerful as you would want to have dinner with me let alone marry me. If we're being completely honest here, I am no match to you. We are poles apart. I know our parents are really close friends and they had this planned out, but the decision at the end is ours alone. Before coming here I googled you up and what I saw was not what I expected. You have been given the title of a billionaire playboy. I know I shouldn't believe what I see on tabloids but I know that some of it if not all is true. I am doing this for my family, they mean everything to me. But what about you. What's your reason? And don't say you don't, because I know for a fact that a guy like you wouldn't even look my way without getting something in return. So what is it that you gain by getting married to me. I want to know your thoughts about all this. This goes both ways. I told you my story, now I want to know yours," she finishes.

Wow. People weren't joking when they say that girls can talk. I am astonished by her honesty. I am taken aback. This is so not what I had expected. I admit that I am in awe of her beauty, innocence and honesty, but I can't be fooled again. Once is a mistake but twice is just plain stupidity. I need to take control here. I am Liam Daniel Gray and I don't just shut up and listen to someone giving orders. It's time to show Kate who the boss is. After all I am the billionaire playboy she said, aren't I.....
