THE ARRANGED LOVE

Chapter 8

KATE'S POV

Today was the day that I was going to meet Liam for the first time, the guy that my parents had arranged my marriage with. Never have I ever been this nervous in my entire life. I don't know what to expect or how to react. I just hope I don't make a fool of myself.

Last night my parents told me that they had planned for Liam and I to meet up for a casual dinner, to get to know each other. Since then I haven't been myself. I couldn't concentrate at work either so I took a half day off as I didn't want my patients' to suffer because of my issues.

So here I was, outside the famous Italian Restaurant 'Squisito'. As I got out of my car I checked my watch to see it was 7.45pm. We were supposed to meet at 8pm so I had 15 minutes to calm myself. I took some deep breaths to compose myself and I kept thinking that this is all for my family. When I felt a bit calmer and composed I decided to go in. Thank god the restaurant wasn't so crowded today. I asked the manager for the table that my parents had booked. Just my luck to find out that they had reserved a private dining area for the two of us. Why am I not surprised...

The manager informed me that Liam is already there. Damn, I hope I get through with this night soon. With all the confidence I had I walked towards the dining table, towards what might be my future.

As he turned around I couldn't help but stare at him. Damn he is hot. What am I even thinking, this is so not me. "Hi, you must be Liam. I am Kate." " Hello Kate. Nice to finally meet the girl who has been the talk of the family." he said in a sarcastic way. I bet I was blushing right now. We sat down and ordered dinner. Though I had stalked Liam before coming here but he is nothing like those photos. He is way more handsome and classy than how he looked in those photographs.

"So Kate, I heard you are a doctor." "Yeah, a gynaecologist actually." I said with pride.

"Wow that's impressive. I am sure that your great at your job. As they say beauty with brains." I could not help but blush at his flirtatious remark.

"Well Liam in that case you are well ahead of me. The youngest billionaire in New York, that's quite an accomplishment." Too bad you just can't keep it in your pants. Good thing I just kept that thought inside my head. Damn Kate why are you being so judgemental. I should know better than to judge him on our first meeting. He has been nothing but a true gentleman till now.

"Shall we order something?" Liam asked. "Yes sure, that'll be a great idea. Liam called the waiter to take in our orders. "I'll have a seafood risotto, thanks." "It's the best dish here," I said to Liam. "I'll have the same." Liam said without looking away from me. What's with the intense stare. It's when the waiter asks if we would like some drinks that I realise I was staring at him as well.

I don't know why I get this feeling whenever he looks at me. I need to control my hormones. I won't deny the fact that I find Liam so attractive which is now making me hot and bothered. Now I understand why girls practically fall in his feet. But I am not like those girls. I am here for my family and that's all that matters.
