Chapter 1

KATE'S POV

Paging Dr Kate Knight please report to the reception.....Paging Dr Kate Knight please report to the reception.....

"Oh my lord, what now?" Today had been a hectic day at the hospital. Being a doctor at one of the top private hospitals in New York isn't an easy job. As they say, 'everything has its perks'. Not that I am complaining. Ever since I was little, I have always dreamed of being a doctor, and to finally making that dream into reality, it was something that I can feel proud about. 

"Hey, Lizzy (receptionist)! What's up?"......"Oh Kate, thank god you are here".... " Your parents have been trying to reach you for so long."

Dammit Kate thats why you should always keep your phone charged....urrrrr(facepalm) "Thanks Lizzy, I'll take care of it."

My parents,  Lucas and Rosaline Knight, are the best parents I could have ever wished for. They are the strict and old fashioned kind but they have never stopped me from pursuing my dreams. In fact, they have been more enthusiastic about my life than I am.

My dad owns an import and export business and my mum helps dad out in the business. Though we have money, we like to live a simple and normal life. There is no point in bragging about how rich you are when you can't even treat everyone equally. And then there is my younger brother, Aiden, who is such a bully but I love him  so very much. 

My life has been perfect with its ups and downs, but together with my family there is no obstacle that will ever bring me down.

Now, back to my parents. They would never disturb me during my working hours unless and until its important. so I gave them a call to make sure everything was ok.

" Hey dad, is everything alright,".........."Yes sweetie, everything is fine." "We just wanted to tell you that we all will be having dinner together, I wanted to talk to you all about something."

"Ok dad, I'll be there by 8pm," "Dad, I need to go now." "I love you, bye".........

I was so looking forward to having dinner with my whole family since we hardly get to spend time together. Little did I know that this happiness would be short lived and my life would take a drastic turn...........

So I am writing the 1st chapter after 3 years of publishing the summary. I don't know why I stopped writing all of a sudden. But today I realised that writing has always been my passion....So to all the people who would love to read my book, thank you guys.....And always remember to never give up on something that you love and feel passionate about coz there is no greater joy than doing something that makes you happy.
