THE ARRANGED LOVE

Chapter 5

KATE'S POV

Arranged marriage. Oh my god. This is unbelievable. I have never planned that part at all. I have been in relationships before but that was it. I have never found someone whom I want to settle down with. I have never thought of that. 

I don't think I am ready to marry yet but I can't refuse my parents as well. What do I do. I am so confused. I couldn't sleep the whole night. I kept tossing and turning around in bed. That's it. I need to talk to mum now. My mum has always been there when I need to talk to someone. She understands my problems and gives the best advice. She'll help me out this time as well.

I go downstairs to my parents' room and I see my mum sitting in the living room with a tub of ice cream. "I knew you'll come looking for me," she laughed. "How did you know that I'll be coming," I said skeptically. "Oh come on honey. I am your mother. I know when my children need me," she said with a smile. "Now come and finish this tub of ice cream with me before it melts.

I laugh and join her. Who can say no to chocolate ice cream. "Kate, I know this is all a lot to take in but just know that me and your father would never do anything that you don't want to." "Baby girl, we love you a lot honey, and we only want to see you happy." "I know mum. I love you guys too," I said. "Its just that all of a sudden this topic comes in. It feels like a bomb just dropped on me." 

"Oh honey. I totally get you. Your father and I had an arranged marriage as well. My parents and his had already planned everything. When I was first told that my father had already found a groom for me I was so terrified and nervous. I didn't know what to do. But I knew that I could trust my family's judgment. And look at how happy I am now. With such an amazing husband and my two wonderful cutie pies, its more than what I had wished for," she said giving me a kiss on the forehead. 

"Mum I understand what you are trying to tell me. But I think I need some time to think about this all, please," I said. "Oh baby, take all the time you need but why don't you meet the guy. Get to know him. And I promise even after getting to know him you feel like he is not the guy for  you then you can just say no and we will respect your wishes," mum tried to reason with me. 

"Ok mum, I trust yours and dad's choice, so I am ready for this, but first I'd like to get to know him."

As I say those words I hear a scream behind us. As I turn around I see my brother and dad hiding in the kitchen. "Oops, did she hear us dad," my brother whispered. Dad smacked my brother on his head and said,"Yes you idiot." 

"Dad, Aiden, you guys can come out now," I sighed. "You guys ganged up on me," I said with a sad face. Dad comes up to me and hugs me. "Kate I am sorry if you feel that we are forcing you sweetie. If you don't want this then I'll call Lucas now and tell him no."

"No dad, that's not what I meant. I trust your judgement and I know that you will always do whats best for me. I love you dad." I hugged my dad and said.

"What about me big sis." "I love you too you annoying little brat," I said to my brother. "Group hug," he yelled.........

If this decision of mine makes my family happy then I am ready to give this a try.......I am ready to take this chance with Liam.........Liam Daniel Gray......I just hope that this works out, for my families sake at least.......
