She had absolutely no idea that she was surrounded by werewolves, nor that at least three vampires were in the room. I grinned, smiling insolently at Jaydn, whose mouth twisted into a snarl, but then the bell rang and three of the four girls, Jaydn, a vampire, and a werewolf, left. Jaydn was on guard, I could tell, but she giggled with the rest of them. Once Rose was alone, I walked over.

"Ready when you are," I said, careful not to let my canine teeth show much.

Rose looked me up and down and said, "Schedule?" I nodded and fumbled in my back pocket, pulling out the sheet of paper. She scanned it and said, "Well, I guess you can just follow me." Grinning, I gestured for Rose to lead the way through the flood of students, which she did. When we made it to English, she dropped into a seat, and I was about to take the one beside it when Jaydn appeared out of nowhere and sat, forcing me to the front of the class.

The alpha and Rose seemed to be having a whispered conversation and I didn't care enough to listen in as I took out my things. But after the class was over, I walked back to Rose, once Jaydn and the others were gone. We walked to the cafeteria and I grinned. Finally, she asked, "What are you grinning for?"

"You friend, Jaydn, she's not fond of me, is she," I said, really more of a statement than a question, but Rose answered anyway.

She seemed confused for a moment, then stammered, "Umm . . . I-I don't know. You'd have to ask her." Then she shook her head as if to clear and and sped up to catch the group of girls she was always with. I chuckled, knowing she would hear, and slipped away, looking for something to eat.

As I hadn't though to bring my own meal and I couldn't eat human food, I was in a tough spot. The easiest thing to do would be to corner a human and drink, but that story would spread very quickly. Then I noticed a girl, boney, with glasses and acne. She was crying, that much was obvious. She was too easy of a meal. Before she could make it to the girl's bathroom, I ran over and grabbed her arm. She tried to jerk away, but I held on. "What's wrong?" I asked, forcing myself to sound concerned.

Her answer as incoherent through her sobs, but I led her to an empty classroom - unlocked, but unused - and sat her down on one of the three desks in here. "Calm down, it's okay," I murmured, finding a roll of paper towels and handing them to her. "Just tell me what happened."

She talked for a moment, telling me her name and what had happened. "Okay, Becca. Tell me their names," I encouraged her, and then, in the middle of her next sentence, I leaned over and kissed her. I couldn't bring myself to kill her, but I could take enough to get by without her or anyone else noticing. She was suprised, but kissed me back, and after a moment I moved to her neck, nibbling just a little, just enough to numb the area. Then I broke the skin. She didn't even notice, and I took enough blood to get through the rest of the day before letting the area seal up. She wouldn't become a vampire - I hadn't made a big enough wound - and she would be fine in a couple hours.

I sent her off, telling her to find me if the girls were ever mean to her again, cleaned the blood off my mouth, and walked out. Lunch would be over, so I needed to either find Rose or find my next class on my own.
