The bell rang, loud in my ears. It was irritating. I was perfectly capable of going to each class without a loud, clanging noise every forty five minutes. Rose stood and walked out with Jaydn, who glanced back. She had heard me in the forest last night. Quickly, she said something to Rose that I did not catch, and then kept walking. After a moment, I slipped out the door. The hallway was clear, or so I thought.
Before I could blink - though I didn't need to - a dark shape had hurtled through the air and pinned me against the wall. Jaydn. "What do you want?!" I demended, keeping as still as possible.
"You son of a bitch. You know exactly what I want." I took note that her eyes were a bright, molten gold. "You're after Rose. But she belongs to my pack and I. Harm her in the slightest and we will hunt you down and I will personally give you a long, slow, painful death."
Before I could respond, she was gone. I growled to nothing and walked away, heading for my next class. I knew that I should have just gone back home, gotten out and never come back. But something about Rose made me want to stay, and screw what Jaydn or anyone els said. I didn't want to hurt her, it was just going to happen.
