Chapter 9

We've been walking all night and soon the sun was rising and I was exhausted. "Where are we going anyways? " I asked dragging my feet forcing myself to keep going.

"To see an old friend of mine. His names Marcus and he'll know how to get to the Safe Haven."

"The what? " I asked.

"The Save Haven. That's where they're going." he gestured to the boys.

"WICKED says there's a cure there...and we're all infected with the Flare." Minho added.

"What's the Flare? " I asked

"Its a decrease. And it turns you into a bloody Crank." Newt said.

I swallowed. "Oh..."

"The only reason why I am doing this is because I want in. I want the cure."

"Deal." Minho said almost a little too quickly.

"Minho we shouldn't make decisions just yet." Newt lectured.

"What does my tattoo say? "

Tattoo?

"That you're the bloody leader I know."

"Actually bloody wasn't in there."

"Oh shut up."

We then made it to a city but it was dead silent. Until we heard blaring music in the distance.

"Alright here's the plan. I need two people who are willing to go into the party in there and would take it seriously." Jorge said sternly then looked at each of us.

"Any volunteers? "

"I'll do it." I shrugged.

"Me too." Newt jumped in before anyone else could.

"You two go. You're trying to find Thomas and Brenda. The rest of you come with me."

Then me and Newt walked into the city following the music.
