Hello, my fellow sunflowers! I hope that you're having a pleasant Autumn and that you've had a productive month!

For those of you who have taken part in NaNoWriMo, congrats in finishing the course! I hope that you have learned a lot, as I have, and have had a productive month and have had a fun time doing it. I've just got done completing NaNoWriMo this past month and I loved every bit of it! If I had known how fun and addictive it was going to be, I would've done NaNoWriMo years ago! lol XD

I have written a total of 30+k words in 30 days! I feel so pumped! There were only 6 days where I hadn't written anything. I would've probably gotten at least 40+k words if I was more disciplined and had written more in some of the days that I had written 300-600 words. But, you live and you learn, I guess. This was my first trial run, so I'm bound to make mistakes -- especially since I have never done this sort of thing before. So, for my first time, I did pretty swell! ^_^

Okay, now for the announcements and other news!

First thing on the "docket", as the Brits say, is that NaNoWriMo is done! *collective mournful moans* I know, it stinks. But I loved it so much that I'm going to continue doing it, by printing out the NaNoWriMo Tracker and continue to mark down my progress. I'm hoping to be using this method to spur me on to start my outlines for a couple of short stories. I'm very excited! XD

The second order of business is that I'm planning on writing something for Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day . . . if I can find the time to do it. Not sure if it's going to be a short story or a poem, but I'll try to get it done if I can. Though I should warn you that it may or may not get posted in time for the actual holiday. But, oh well. As the old saying goes: "Better late than never!"

And I also have a Thanksgiving poem that I haven't finished yet that I had hoped to get done for the actual holiday, but that was a fantastical notion that I should've known that I wouldn't have been able to make it come into fruition. For one thing, I had come up with the poem idea a literal day before Thanksgiving, and the other was that, due it being Thanksgiving, I was going to be spending a lot of time with my family (which is not a bad thing at all) and the next day was going to be me recovering from the holiday. Plus, it usually takes me some time to write a poem and it was getting near to the end of NaNoWriMo and I wanted to get at least 30k words written before it ended. Long story short, I am planning on finishing that up and getting that posted as well.

The next announcement is that I am going to be busy this month outlining and writing the beginning drafts for one or two short stories. I'm so excited to finally be able to start writing actual stories and stuff. My mom is also going to be teaching me about story structure and character development/structure -- two very important skills to learn if one ever hopes to be a great fiction writer. I have much to learn, but I'm very excited about finally being able to move forward after being stuck in the quick sands of procrastination, perfection, perspiration (personal inspiration), and escapism for so long. As Silverhand says: "Embrace the imposter!" (if you don't know what I'm talking about, I suggest you read his latest blog "I'm an imposter". It's awesome!) XD

Another thing I want to mention is that I'm also planning on posting an article that I had just got done writing for NaNoWriMo just yesterday. It's about my thoughts, experiences, and lessons that I've learned concerning NaNoWriMo. I hope that you'll read it and enjoy it once I have it posted.

OH! And my work "The Hoof of Providence" won 1st Place in one of the contests that I had submitted. I feel so ecstatic! I never won anything before! Hopefully, I'll be able to turn this piece into an actual novella in the near future! Here's hoping! *crosses fingers*

I think that's everything I needed to mention in this month's newsletter. If I have anything that I had forgotten to mention, I'll post something to let you guys know.

You guys are amazing! Thank you reading this and I hope that you have an awesome, productive, and fun December! Stay Warm and Stay Sunny, my friends! ^_^
