Good afternoon, my Sun Puppies! Today is the first day of April and Spring has finally come. I can't believe that it's April already. Where has the time gone? lol XD
Anyway, I've got several things to talk about for this month's newsletter since there's a lot of stuff that I'm going to be doing in April this month. It'll be pretty busy.
First off, as you all probably already know, I've been entering in a boatload of contests. I'm doing this to expose my works more so that more people can find them. As a result, I've gained an extra 30 followers! Now, whether they'll read my stuff and become actual followers is yet to be seen.
Secondly, I'm participating in Camp NaNoWriMo. many of you probably know of it, and are even participating in it yourself. For those of you who don't know, NaNoWriMo is short for "National November Writing Month" (though there's events that go outside of November). It's a free online program in America to help motivate writers to get their first drafts done within 30 days in a fun, addictive way. And it works. Last year, I wrote 30,000 words in 30 days writing miscellaneous stuff -- 20k short of 50,000 words. I'm hoping to AT LEAST get that many this month as well. I won't be writing any stories yet. Mostly nonfiction as well as my poems and lullabies.
As a result of this, I won't be on Wattpad QUITE as much. I'll still be checking my notifications almost daily, but will only be on for an hour or two -- versus being on here for several hours (which is probably healthier. lol XD)
Thirdly, as many of you know, I've recently posted my "Irish Lullabies" book. It's become a big hit on my first one alone. As a result, I'll try to make it a semi-priority to write both Irish lullabies and regular lullabies, since they seem to be a big hit. I'll also be working on poetry and show my poetry book some love as well. I'll not be focusing on writing stories right now since I still need time to figure out what I'm going to do. But be rest assured that I will be working on a fictional project sometime in the near future.
Fourthly, I'm a judge for both The Flavored Awards and The Unique Awards. First time in A LONG TIME since I judged anything. So the experience will be fun! ^_^
Fifthly, I'm making plans on writing an original story -- or at least a short story. But they're not official and I still need to discuss things with my mom about what to do. Because of this, the project will be classified until it's posted on here.
Sixthly, I'm also making plans on a possible third lullaby book, but I'll need to make some significant progress on the other two before I even deign on making a third Lullaby book.
And finally, I am going to be creating a document on here for you, my followers, to peruse. It will directly affect my future developments as an author from here on out. I had thought about doing this earlier, but never really got around to it. But now that it's Spring and it's NaNoWriMo, I feel like it's the perfect time to work on this little side project. This document will affect both me and you guys directly, and I hope that it will spell out great things in times to come, and that it'll even inspire you as well. I'm not going to say what this little pet project is yet, except that it was inspired by and that I feel obliged to give her all of the credit. I'll be planning on posting this work sometime this week, hopefully -- unless I get too busy to do so. I would love for you guys to be there when I give out the grand reveal. I think all of you will love it, and may even inspire you to do it yourselves.
