Chapter 5

The next morning I wake up and text Kate and tell her everything. She face times me so she can help me pick and outfit out then I eat breakfast and stuff. After a little I get a text from Derrick. "Would you like to go to lunch at 1pm?" I ask my parents if I can go they say ok.

I get ready and Derrick comes an picks me up. I get in the car and on the way we go. We get to this kind of fancy not really, but it's a really cool place and we eat outside. "Nate this is my friend Hazel." "Hi nice to meet you."

We shake hands, as soon as I look up I realize I have seen him in school a lot and he was my lab partner at a time. "Oh hi, I know you." "Remember we were lab partners in chem?" "Yeah, I would take pictures of you when you were not looking." "Wait what why would you do that."

"Because I did." "Oh any reason?" "No not any." Derrick clears his throat. "Are you two done?"

I look at him. "Sorry we were just talking." "I know but I felt left out." "Dude you were not left out trust me man, you know that for a fact." "But it was a two person convo I pretty much felt left out."

The waiter comes and asks what we want to drink I just take a strawberry smoothie. She then also asks what we want to eat. We tell her we need more time and she says ok I'll be back with your drinks then. "I didn't know you like smoothies?" "Yeah there good here an there not all the time."

He points to Nate. "Nate here told me of a really good smoothie place he would go to sometime he even took me once I'll have to take you sometime." "Ok." The waiter comes back with our drinks. I take a sip.

"This is really good would you like to try some?" I look at Nate and Derrick. "Yeah sure." I get the waiters attention and ask for more straws. They try it also and say how good it is.

We then look at the menu and order. Talk more while our food is getting ready and then once we get our food we eat. I say I have to go to the bathroom so I go I hear Derrick and Nate say something but couldn't really hear them. I get back and Derrick asks me something. "Would you like desert if your not full after?"

"Sure." We finish eating then I have to go again to the bathroom from all the water I drank, this time I see Nate Nudge Derrick I think nothing of it. As soon as I get back there's something on my plate. I pick it up and open it. "Dear Hazel, well I don't know how els to say this because I would like to say your really pretty actually your gorgeous yes about the whole picture taking yes Nate took them and sent then to me it was his idea he told me about you and how pretty you are and everything and well he was right, I would also like to say your a person I like hanging out with sorry about the hand touching the other day it just happened. I um...Was...Wondering I have no clue how els to say this...But would you be my girlfriend?"

As soon as I finished reading it the waiter came out and brought me pudding. I look at Derrick then Nate. "You took the pictures for him really?" "Yeah I did as soon as I knew he was moving here." "You sneaky person Nate ."

"Yep." I look at Derrick. "Yes I would be your girlfriend." Then I hug him. I eat the pudding and it was good.

We were getting ready to leave and asked Nate if he wanted to hang, but he said he had to go home because of his girl was coming over." "Derrick said he would hang with him tomorrow. We both go back to our cars and say good by to Nate. We go back to Derricks house and hang in his room. He trips and a button gets pressed.

Music starts to play. At this point I was sitting on the couch in my dress and texting Kate and telling her everything that happened at lunch. "Hazel?" I look up. "Sorry was texting my friend Kate she just got her phone back a few nights ago."

"It's fine, would you like to dance?" "Sure." I put my phone down and grab his hand. It was nice to be holding it. We dance for a little then sit on his bed.

My phone goes off and I ask to get it my mom told me to home for dinner. I just tell her ok then put my phone away. He grabs my hand and we lock fingers. "I've wanted to ask you to be my girlfriend for a little but I didn't want to be pushy so I waited, do you wanna watch a movie?" "Derrick it's ok, and sure which one?"

"How about Need for Speed?" "Sure that's a great movie." We watch the movie. After the movie I have to go home for dinner. After dinner I text Kate and tell her everything!

She is so excited to hear and also glad were talking again. She is my best friend. She also tells me how happy she is I found someone, also she is glad were talking again. I then end up getting ready for the night. I go to bed.
