Chapter 8

The next couple of days went by and my family went on vacation to the beach. I hated and liked to go to the beach at the same time this year. One I didn't want to leave Derrick for the week. My parents told me its family vacation so I have to go. At this point I tell Derrick that my family and me are going to the beach tomorrow for the week and I really don't want to because of him.

He tells me that everything will be ok and that I should go and spend some time with my family. The next couple of days go the same beach all day then dinner then board walk. Same thing every day! One day it was raining I was just on my phone and reading my book. Out of nowhere there is a knock on our shore house we have.

I wonder who it is since I was the only one home since parents went shopping. I go to the door an ask who it is. They just tell me to open it please. I open it and bam Derrick is there. "SURPRISE"!

I hug him. "What are you doing here"? "I came to surprise you babe." "Aw thanks"! "Come in its raining."

I hold the door for him and he grabs me out into the poring rain and kisses me! We then go inside an an dry our selfs off as best as we can. Later my parents come home and see Derrick is here they say they want to talk to me. I go into the other room. "Hazel this is a family vacation".

"I know it is, but he showed up and surprised me". My dad kind of mad, "how long is he staying here"? "I have no clue I can find out". I go out the room an ask Derrick how long he's staring till then go back. "Till tomorrow night then leaving first thing in the morning the next day".

"Good I'm sorry Hazel, but it's just this is a family vacation I want to spend as much time as I can with you before school starts". "I know dad, it's the same every year since I got into high school". "Now can I go back and be with Derrick"? "Yes have fun". I hug my dad "I love you".

I go back and sit with Derrick. He gives me a look. I pull out my phone and type everything on it, and let him read it. He then tells me maybe he should go. I tell him no I want these two days at the shore with you.

I then snuggle into him. After a while it becomes dinner time and my parents ask him to stay. We eat dinner then later walk the board walk. It was nice I always looked forward to coming back to the beach in Maryland. While on the board walk Derrick decides to play a carnival game.

I ask him and he just tells to pick a stuffed animal I like. I pick the biggest panda. He's says no question. Thirty dollars later he hands me the panda and says keep it. I smile.

We then keep walking the boardwalk till I have to go home. He drops me off at my shore house and kisses me goodnight. I wave good night. I then walk inside and go get ready for bed. Then watch a movie with my parents then go to bed.
