Badgerpaw carefully eyed her opponent. As the she-cat's paws stepped forward, Badgerpaw retreated back a few steps. As her opponent's dark ginger coat lunged at her, she waited until they were a few mouse-lengths away, sidestepped, turned and clawed her down the flank.
"Good," Sapstar meowed, looking at the long scratch she had gotten from Badgerpaw. "Now, let's practice what to do when your pinned down."
Sapstar suddenly launched at Badgerpaw, who attempted to sidestep, but she was too slow. Sapstar was now on top of her and Badgerpaw thought through her mind quickly. She kicked up with her hind legs and lifted Sapstar off her, then quickly got up and turned to face Sapstar.
"Good, good, but you won't have time to think all details through in battle," Sapstar meowed, sitting down.
Badgerpaw nodded and pretended to sit down, then suddenly launched at Sapstar. She knocked into Sapstar, making her fall over, and pinned her down. Sapstar purred in amusement and kicked up with her hind legs, sending Badgerpaw off her.

Badgerpaw walked into camp with a few pieces of fresh-kill. She walked to the apprentice's den. Badgerpaw glimpsed a brown pelt in the darkness and pretended she hadn't seen. She listened behind her and as she heard pawsteps close to her, she sidestepped and Bearpaw's figure whizzed past her.
"Fox dung! I thought I'd snuck up on you," Bearpaw meowed in an amused tone. "Why are you so hard to sneak under on? This is the fifth time I've failed to!"
"I pay attention, and I saw your brown pelt in the shadows, it sticks out," Badgerpaw explained, "but if you stick yourself up by a birch tree, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference!"
Bearpaw laughed then when he had stopped laughing enough to get words out he said, "I'll try that next time, while my pelt sticks out of the shadows, yours is almost perfect! The only thing giving you away is your markings!"
"True," Badgerpaw purred, "But if I stood on something tall, I'd look like a badger!"
Applepaw darted in, "the first day of leafbare is here!" His voice was either full of worry or excitement, Badgerpaw couldn't tell. "Come outside!"
Applepaw padded outside and Bearpaw and Badgerpaw followed. As Badgerpaw stepped out of the den she felt something cold under her paws, she looked down at something white, she looked around and realized that the white stuff covered EVERYTHING!
"What is this?" Bearpaw's voice snapped her out of her thought.
"Haven't you ever been outside in leadbare before?!?" Applepaw asked in surprise.
"No, even if while we were kits this stuff came, we wouldn't have seen it, Lighteye kept us in at all times," Badgerpaw mewed.
"Oh, well, this is called snow," Applepaw explained.
As he finished the sentence a piece of the white stuff, snow, came at him and hit him in the back. He turned around to look at Featherstorm and clawed some of the snow at her with his front paws.
"This is known as a snow fight," Applepaw replied as his snow landed on Featherstorm's face. "Come in, join in!"
Badgerpaw clawed some snow at Bearpaw. The snow hit him in the chest, and he came back with his own that hit Badgerpaw on top of the head.
As they continued fighting a sudden piece of snow hit Badgerpaw from the side, she turned to see an amused Sapstar. Badgerpaw smiles and clawed snow back at her.

After the snow fight had stopped Badgerpaw was almost completely white. Bearpaw was also very white with the snow, especially on his back. Featherstorm's bass solve read white pelt was also white, especially on her chest, and Applepaw had it worst, he was entirely white.
"They should rename you Snowpaw, then have your warrior name be Snowfight," Badgerpaw meowed with a laugh to Applepaw.
  "Ya, they should!" Applepaw replied.
He looked down with an emotion in his eyes, what emotion, Badgerpaw could not tell, but he brought his head back up quickly as they entered the den.
