Badgerpaw walked out of camp, slightly excited, mainly worried. Today she was having her first hunt alone. She walked into the forest. The forest had once seemed small and homely, but now it felt big and scary. She scented the air and caught the scent of squirrel after she was a quite a ways away from camp. She dropped into a crouch and stalked towards the squirrel, it was scrawny, like most prey in leafbare, and it was bubbling in a nut
She pounced at the squirrel and gave a swift bite. She paused as a branch cracked behind her, she pretended to not hear it and covered her prey then moved on. She listened closely behind her and as she scented the air she caught mouse scent, but no other scent. She crouched down as the noise of pawsteps rang close behind her, she sidestepped instinctively and a pale yellow tom that Badgerpaw didn't recognize whizzed past her. Badgerpaw scented and detected the scent: RiverClan.
The tom was up in his feet and facing her now, his muzzle wrinkled in a snarl.
"What are you doing here?" Badgerpaw hissed, getting into a fighting stance.
"Nothing of your business," the tom mewed, his voice was gravely, but young, apprentice age.
Badgerpaw jumped to the side as the tom lunges at her, as she turned to attack the tom, a force knocked her to the ground. She looked up at a silver she-cat. As Badgerpaw looked around, two more pelts appeared: One was light brown with blue-gray markings, the other dark gray.
"Will this one do, Hollowstream?" The silver she-cat yowled to the white and gray one.
"Yes, Dewclaw" the tom replied in a purr. "Baypaw, do the honors."
The pale yellow tom that Badgerpaw has been fighting stepped up, hesitantly, Badgerpaw seemed to be the only one who noticed, for his hesitation stopped a second after shown, and he now advanced upon Badgerpaw, who was still pinned down by all fours and when he reached her, his paw slammed down on Badgerpaw's head and she was cast knot darkness.

Badgerpaw didn't know how long she'd been out, she only knew that when she woke the Sky was black with stars dotting, but she could barely see these for two reasons: One, she seemed to be underground, and two, a large figure, silhouetted against the dark sky. The little part of sky was blocked as another figure, smaller than the first. Badgerpaw heard voices, but not words. After a bit the bigger silhouette nodded and the smaller entered her den-like place.
"I brought you some fresh-kill, Flintfur alerted me you had woke," the voice was like the yellow tom's, and Badgerpaw was sure that was who this was.
"H-how long have I been out?" Badgerpaw's throat hurt and her voice was hoarse from lack of use.
"About three days now, I-I'm sorry about that, I didn't want to go into ThunderClan territory, I didn't want to distract you while Dewclaw snuck up, and I didn't want to kidnap you," the voice said, "but our deputy, Smokesplash, commanded us and our leader, Troutstat, agreed."
  "I-it's ok," Badgerpaw mewed.
A thought for raved through her mind:  'Are they looking for me? Are they worried? Do they think I'm dead? Why am I even supposed to be here?'
Baypaw seemed to guess her thoughts. "I'm sorry, uh, what's your name?" He mewed.
  "Badgerpaw"
"Badgerpaw, Sunstar And Smokesplash think we need something form ThunderClan, something we can only get through..." Baypaw trailed off, took a deep breath then finished, "through leverage."
Badgerpaw's eyes widened in surprise. She was to be used as leverage?
"What importance do I have to my Clan? I'm just another apprentice," Badgerpaw mewed.
"Obviously not, if Sapstar herself took you as her apprentice," Baypaw mewed.
Badgerpaw looked down. When she looked back up she met Baypaw's eye, the same emotion that was in Applepaw's eyes the day of the snow fight was in his. What was this emotion?
"So, how long will I be staying?" Badgerpaw asked.
"Troutstat announced that we would be, I don't want to say using you, but that seems to be the only word, but he was planning on doing it when leafbare is at its highest," Baypaw mewed. "So probably."  He sniffed the air  "A moon at most, and five days at least."
  Badgerpaw looked at the sky.
"I guess I'll get comfortable than."
"I'll be coming in to give you fresh-kill and to talk, and if I can convince Troutstar, let you out for some exercise," Baypaw meowed. "I'll come at Sunrise, Sunhigh, And Moonhigh."
Badgerpaw nodded, though the only evidence was her markings bobbing up then down.
