  "What do we do with him?" Littlewing motioned to Baypaw.
  "Get him some fresh-kill then send him away, I guess," Sapstar meowed.
  "NO!" Badgerpaw yowled. "Baypaw HELPED me, he tried to save me, he brought me fresh-kill, and he just was a companion to me."
  "But he left you since he was not wandering with you," Sapstar hissed.
  "Because I told him to!" Badgerpaw replied.
  "Ok," Sapstar meowed. "We'll let him join ThunderClan, if he would like."
  "Yes," Baypaw answered quietly.
  "Then we shall Dawn you an apprentice when we get to camp," Sapstar mewed.

  Badgerpaw looked at Baypaw with a smile as Sapstar called him up and gave him Featherstorm as a mentor. She looked sideways at Applepaw, who flared at Baypaw with fury in his eyes.
  "Are you angry we're letting Baypaw stay?" Badgerpaw asked, forcing herself not to his and to keep her hackles down.
  "No, it's- a different reason," He mewed, looking away.
  Baypaw sat next to Badgerpaw and Applepaw let out a low snarl.
  "Don't me. Applepaw, he's- been acting strange since you came," Badgerpaw mewed. "I'll show you all the dens!"
  Badgerpaw lead Baypaw first to the elder's den.
  "This is the elder's den, where Birchfur and Breezeface live," Badgerpaw mewed, walking in. "This is Birchfur." Badgerpaw motioned to the older-looking cat. "And Breezeface." She motioned to the younger cat.
  "Hello, Baypaw," the elder's mewed in unison.
  Baypaw And Badgerpaw walked toward the medicine cat's den after finishing in the elders'. "This is where Willowflight and Fernpaw live," Badgerpaw mewed.

  The moon started to peak out as Badgerpaw and Baypaw walked to the apprentice's' den and laid down. Badgerpaw heard a low growl from Applepaw as Baypaw settled down next to her. What was his problem with Baypaw? Badgerpaw sighed and went to sleep.

  "QUICKLY QUICKY!" Willowflight's voice was what roused Badgerpaw. She stood and ran out of the den, as she exited she just saw a black tail tip disappear into the medicine cat's den. She walked into the den and saw with terror it was Skunkfur. He was bleeding from the side and back of his neck. Badgerpaw sat next to him.
  "I-is he going to be okay?" Badgerpaw stammered.
  "I don't know," Willowflight admitted. "His wounds are deep, and infected."
  Badgerpaw laid down next to her dad as tears flowed from her eyes. She felt two pelts join her, one pelt she saw was Baypaw, the other was Applepaw. Across form her she saw Bearpaw and Lighteye kneeling over Skunkfur.

  "Badgerpaw," Fernpaw's voice came form the entrance. "I'm sorry, we tried our best but... your father is dead."
  Badgerpaw looked up at the sky and sighed.
  "Thank you for trying," Badgerpaw mewed. "I know not all wounds can be healed."
  Bearpaw sighed beside her, and he nestled close to her. Badgerpaw leaned into his chest, and feeling him being his head down as if protecting her she let her tears flow, dampening Bearpaw's chest fur, and Bearpaw's own tears were dampening her back as they mourned their father.
