Chapter 18

We finish up our exams over in two weeks. The girls' basketball team fail to make it into the finals. Hye-Yeon fails to make it into the national team after attending trials, Hani and I will be teammates again and that's one thing I am looking forward to.

I have been attending training religiously, there's already competition that is coming up and it has been awhile since I felt so nervous about it.

It's nervewrecking to think about everything that is coming up.

"Annyeonghaseyo." I let go of Min-Seok's hand and greeted the producer. I am here today at a studio in Seoul to have a photoshoot of me in the jersey and also some of my teammates.

I changed into the jersey and step out with a big smile on my face. Min-Seok is here because I was really nervous about it, he's all covered up as his disguise.

"I am so excited." I say to Min-Seok as I walked to the white back drop. "Relax a little, it's a very simple photo shoot. Show me some of your dribbling skills and poses and all will be good."

Min-Seok stands at a spot where I can see him, he lift his hat up a little so I could see his eyes.

I stood in the front with four other teammates at the back, "show me a badass face."

I did as the photographer instructed and we wrapped it up. I went over to the table where I will get interviewed.

"Annyeonghaseyo." I smile to the camera and the PD.

"I am Baek Chae-Rin, I am 23 years old and I am the Captain of South Korea's Women team." I bow and took a seat.

"How do you feel about being one of the youngest captain appointed?"

"I am incredibly humbled, I have not been appointed before in all my years of playing so.. I am looking forward to leading the team with the help of the coach and my teammates." 

"Who's your favorite player of all time?"

"Allen Iverson. He retired years ago, but he's the answer." I wink at the camera.

"Who's your favorite team?"

"Lakers."

"When's your birthday?"

"I was born on 30th March 1990."

"Are you single or married?"

I froze, "neither?" I let out a nervous laughter.

"So you have a boyfriend?"

"Yes, we have a very private relationship." I put my hand over my mouth, blushing.

"Awhile ago you were on your phone, who's on the back of your phone?"

"Oh, Xiumin of EXO."

"Are you a big fan of EXO?" 

"Yes, they're all so talented... Xiumin ssi is my bias."

"Have you been to their concert?"

"Yes, they're amazing." 

"How do you feel about your first match coming up soon?"

"It's nervewrecking for me. It's my first appearance, I- I..." I look at Min-Seok for a moment, "I am very nervous but I know I will be fine."

"Okay, that's the end of it. We will see you next time." PD smiles at me.

I then got up and walked towards Min-Seok, "you're so cute." Min-Seok puts his hand on my head.
