Dating An Idol

Chapter 27

"Hyung." Jong-Dae steps into Min-Seok's apartment. All Min-Seok does is does his schedule and go home. He barely ate anything, just sleep and... Sleep.

"Wake up," Baekhyun nudges Min-Seok lightly. The two watch a tear slowly roll down his cheek, "don't wake me up."

"The only time I can see her is in my dream."

"Sit up." Baekhyun frowns at the state of him, "hyung." He whines. Baekhyun sits on the bed, "you didn't wash your dishes for days." Baekhyun says. It's unlike Min-Seok to do so, he always like it neat and tidy.

Min-Seok shuts his eyes tightly, wondering if she's doing fine or not? The restaurant is a wreck, it's all his fault.

He fell in love.

Jong-Dae then noticed the small picture frame on his night table, a picture of Chae-Rin kissing Min-Seok.

He smiled, they were in love and happy.

The management covered up well, Min-Seok done his part clearing up rumours saying that he didn't date. They told the whole world that they're close to Chae-Rin and everything is just a misunderstanding...

Chae-Rin has to do her part too, she has to do interviews and answer dumb questions about her love life after a basketball match. She's glad she doesn't have to do it now, it's off season.

"Hyung, eat well." Baekhyun places a bowl of kimchi soup on the table.

Min-Seok stares down at the bowl, remembering that Chae-Rin cooked for him a couple of times. He missed her cooking even though it's not the best, it's not the worst either.

Min-Seok's eyes well up with tears as he drinks a spoonful of soup. What does it take to have her back?

Does he have to leave EXO? Is that what everyone wants?

"Hyung...." Baekhyun puts his chopsticks down when fresh tears fell onto the dining table.

There's nothing Baekhyun or Jong-Dae can do to make Min-Seok happy.

There's no pros to dating an idol, only cons.

They wanted to live in the moment and think about the consequences later. Who knew it would be this painful?

In the settling silence, in the empty room
I hear my ringing heartbeat

The sound of the rain cries outside the window

Chae-Rin sits on the hammock, swinging all by herself as she listens to Taemin's album.

She watch the sun slowly sets. It has been peaceful, really. People around here barely knows her, it's wonderful.

She softly sing along, thinking how life would be like if they weren't in the public's eyes.

"Noona." Chae-Rin turns around to find Chanyeol standing there with Sehun.

He's the only Chanyeol that matters.

"You guys found me." Chae-Rin flash them a small smile, "come sit." She invited them over.

"Sorry, we did a little stalking." Sehun apologises.

"It's okay." Chae-Rin shakes her head. Chanyeol notices the bags under eyes and red it is, her nose is red too.

Have she been crying for nights? Is she in pain?

"I am sorry, Noona. We're famous." Chanyeol blurts out. Chae-Rin let out a light chuckle, she hasn't smiled in awhile, it's refreshing.

"Is Min-Seokie... Okay? Are you guys okay?" Chae-Rin ask, "we're on a two months probation... We can't promote and such but we will be fine." Sehun replies.

"I am sorry... We were in love." Chae-Rin says with a forced smile on her face, tears blurred her vision.

"Just cry, you have my shoulder... Always." Sehun leans closer to Chae-Rin.

"Me too, Noona." Chanyeol grabs her hand.

"I am so glad you both are here, she's not herself." Baek Mother sets two cups of tea down on the table. "We're sorry about your restaurant." Sehun apologises.

"It's okay... You guys have it hard too, right?" Baek Mother sits down opposite of them, "we will be back in Seoul soon. My daughter is nominated for an award, SM Entertainment told me that she needs to make an appearance with you guys.... I don't know what does that mean but take care of her."

"Ah, the Nation's Top Sports Award?" Chanyeol realised that Min-Seok and Chae-Rin are bound to meet. Will they be okay?

EXO will be there as one of the special guests and announcing the winners for the awards.

"Chae-Rin— Ah!" Chae-Rin runs into the house, Ji-Hyo drops her bag on the floor.

"That must be your best friend." Chanyeol laughs.

Ji-Hyo puts her hand over her racing heart, "Ji-Hyo, you know them right?" Chae-Rin puts on a small smile.

"Uh huh." She nods her head, "annyeonghaseyo." Sehun stood up and bows to her.

"Say something, child." Mother says, "I love you guys soooo much." Ji-Hyo blurts out.

The whole room erupts into laughter, Ji-Hyo excitedly sits next to Sehun, asking questions about Min-Seok's relationship with Chae-Rin.

Ah right.

Chae-Rin head back out, the night sky has taken over. Stars are appearing in the sky.

"Wah the night sky here is no joke." Chanyeol steps out, "I will stay here forever if I can." He murmurs.

"Me too with Min-Seokie." Chae-Rin mutters.

"Shooting star!" Ji-Hyo comes back out, pointing to the plane in sky.

Chae-Rin lies down in the hammock, a tear trickling down her cheek.

"May our love last forever."
