Why did I have to work so far away yet so close to the most intriguing person at my job. She probably doesn't even see me but I admire her from afar. She's so wonderful with customers and works her ass off. Her smile is so inviting but not enough for me to walk up and talk to her like we we're friends. I'm too much of a wimp for that, but I know you're asking "she's nice it's not like she's going to bite your head off, so what's the big deal?" Well its trying to stop her, get her attention, trying to slow her down. She's constantly busy or listening to music or reading or on her laptop. I don't want to disturb her and make her angry. If you've ever interrupted a hard worker, then you know their wrath. Also she makes me nervous but that's to be expected.

"Taylor?!" I snaped out of my daze.

"Huh? What?" I look over to my fellow coworker, Alice.

"I saaaaid are you going to the company Christmas party?" She asked while looking at what I was staring at. "You know staring is rude?"

I felt my face flush red. "Stop. I just zoned out and happened to be starting at someone."

"Why don't you go talk to her?"

I looked back to Celeste wishing her customer a good day. "She's busy. And yes."

Alice scoffed at me. "Don't be scared. She's just as nice as you."

"I'm not worried about her bring rude, I just don't want to bother her." Alice rolled her eyes.

Alice and Celeste would talk every now and again. They mainly talked about wanting to go home, but it was for a split second before Celeste had to run off to help someone. Our departments were right next to each other. She worked in the shoe department and I in fragrance of our department store. Shoes was busy all the time so I don't blame her for a quick talk then running.

"Alice are you going to the party?"

"Duh. I'm planning on crushing the ugly sweater competition. I found the perfect one online!"

"Nice I-" there was a loud crash in the shoe department followed by a series of clatter, I snapped my head to get a better look. Celeste ran to clean up a table that had fallen over with tons of shoes on top.

"Let's help!" Alice walked over and I followed suit.

Celeste looked up and gave a smile but her face was really red. "You guys don't have to-"

"It's okay." I cut her off with a smile.

"Thank you." And we cleaned up the mess while Alice fixed the table.

Finally all the boxes were back on the table.

"Thank you again. You really didn't have to." She said again.

"It's really no problem." I said back to her.

"Celeste! Your arm!" Alice called from behind. Celeste lifter her arm and blood was dripping from her elbow, her eyes widened. I, without thinking, grabbed her cut with my hand. She let it a whine.

"I'm sorry but we have to not let you drip on the floor. Let's take you upstairs." We started walking to the elevator and she pushed the button for the employee level.

When we arrived we went to the girls bathroom. I kicked open the door lightly. No response, we went inside.

She cleaned her elbow then put a paper towel on it while I cleaned my hands off. Under the sink was a first aid kit, I grabbed it and pulled out a wipe and bandaid.

I touched her cut with the wipe and she whimpered again.

"Sorry." I whispered.

"No it's okay." She whispered back.

After I finished putting a bandaid on we walked out and she gave me a smiley thank you. I smiled back, hers was precious.
