I'm not bad

*AN: I stole this story idea from a Phan story I'm reading. lmao*

Celeste POV

I was walking through the hall with my usual stance. My head held higher than it should be and a clear path to my locker, six hundred and sixty six, since no one else wanted it I took it. As a approached a couple sophomores scrambled from the premises. I hated that this was how the school saw me, but being alone was better then having people who will let me down and hurt me, or I hurt them.

The bell for class was about to ring so i made my way to my first class. I took my usual desk in the back and waited for the rest of the students to pile in.

Grey POV

The bell for first class rang and I walked from the student parking lot to my first class with my friends. I wouldn't consider myself popular but I do hang out with those kids. The sporty, rich kids who drive nice cars, are in Beta Club and want to 'study abroad.' I shared a class with the school's "bad girl." Celeste has a reputation, not a good one though. Some people believe she has killed a man but I never believed the tough girl act. Celeste is a good one on the inside. Her all black clothes and bleach blonde hair can't fool me. I've graded our teacher's paper work for a school service and Celeste is top of the class.

Now tell me, why would the school's bad girl get 100's on everything?

"Grey, stop staring." Liz whispered to me. "She might stab you or something."

"You do realize I can hear you, Elizabeth." Celeste said in a cold tone, she looked up from her phone and was looking deep into my ginger friend's eyes.

"Um. I. Um. Sorry." Liz turned around causing her hair to flip. "Grey, stop staring!" she called to me again. Celeste left me in a trance. She was interesting and she somehow knew everyone in our grades name. I guess she feels better when she has the upper advantage.

Celeste POV

I literally hate when I have to use the name thing. I know everyone in our grades name but not by choice. I'm working for a scholarship to Yale and it's this strange requirement that comes off of being valedictorian and at some graduate dinner being able to give awards to everyone by looking at them. Anyway, Liz started it, well actually Grey did but I was just playing Flappy Birds on my phone. They-well he-were staring, I had to do something.

I just want the day to be over.

"So we started poetry and I had the class write a poem expressing how they feel about love. I had many poems that were good, some that were excellent and one that was publishable," the teacher was walking around and stopped beside me. "Celeste, would you read your poem out loud to the class."

I scoffed and shook my head. The teacher ruffled her brow. "But it was magnificent and powerful, you must."

"How about no?" She was taken aback.

"Celeste, read your poem. Now."

"I said no. No means no, now fuck off. Have one of the 'excellent' kids read theirs."

"Celeste Robinson, to the principal's office, right now!"

"Ooooh big punishment, he'll be glad to see me. We haven't had breakfast together in a while." I grabbed my bag and slammed the door behind me. I went to the principal and he greeted me by first name, as did I with him. I told him what happened, he took my side because he finds the teachers equally repulsive, then sent me back with a slip for after school detention. Great.

Grey POV

It was finally lunch time, I sat at my table with the usual squad and they were talking about the beta competition then somehow the topic was changed to Celeste, of course Liz had to tell about this morning.

"She called me by my first name. My entire name. I didn't even know she knew I existed." Everyone piped up and began talking about if Celeste knew everyone's name. "It's all Grey's fault." Everyone looked to me. "He stared at her." A silence fell over the table.

"Yeah, so?"

"So!?" Liz yelled "you could've gotten us stabbed or worse, kidnapped, you don't-"

"Elizabeth, what did I tell you about talking about others?" Liz's face went pale and the table was so quiet, you could hear a pen drop. "Others have ears and others aren't kidnappers." Celeste then walked away and I watched her walk to an empty table outside and eat her lunch with her headphones in.

"Liz!" Preston yelped. "You almost got us killed!" All I could think about was what happened to Celeste that was so terrible, that she became the way she is.

Celeste POV

Ah, after school detention. I love it. NOT. I told my parents that I was getting some extra practice in for my speech Saturday, thankfully they bought it. The classroom was at the end of the darkest hallway, it was creepy to look at and creepier to walk down. I took a picture because it looked cool but I, unfortunately, have to go down there. I gave a groan and dragged my feet until I got to the doorway.

"Miss. Robinson, I don't want you in here as much as you, so just tell me why you didn't want to read out loud and be on your way." Sweet.

"I didn't want to read out loud because the people in this school think a certain way about me."

"Scary."

"Yes, and I don't want to ruin that by reciting my secret fluffy heart to a class because rumors spread and suddenly I don't have the clear walkway to my satan locker."

"Okay. I guess that makes sense. You're free to go."

"Thanks." I turned and walked away before she could change her mind and made my way home.

As I was turning onto my street I saw 3 people at the park and another hiding behind a brick wall. There was yelling and a struggle. I stopped to watch the events unfold in front of me.

"P-please don't hurt m-me!" The voice sounded familiar. Then I saw one of the hooded figures pull out a shiny thing, I think it was a knife but I wasn't taking any chances.

"Hey!" I called while running to the scene. "Get away from him!" The figures turned toward me as I got closer to them. "Jason Facing and Matthew Morning, you better walk away now." I stepped into the light and they got a better look at my face, they turned paler than a ghost and ran quickly away. I turned to the kid on the ground. Grey.

Grey POV

"Celeste. You saved me." I began to say. I was terrified because maybe she shooed them off in order to finish me. I stayed on the ground fearing for my life. "Please don't hurt me too."

"Grey, I would never." She held her hand out to me and helped me up. It was strange because she was shorter then me but somehow intimidating. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm okay but you saved me life." She examined me for a few seconds.

"I guess I did." I let out a small smile and our eyes met. Her's were a strange green, they had yellow mixed about in a random spotted pattern. No one has ever seen them before and everyone assumed they were gray, but they weren't. They were a brilliant green.

"Thank you Celeste. I mean that." She gave me a smile that i don't think she has seen in a while.

Celeste POV

Happy. I was actually happy. I just saved someone's life. I did that. No grade or 100 on a test has ever made me feel this good.

"You're welcome. Do you live far?"

"No just around the corner."

"Okay, I'll walk you home."

"I think it's supposed to be the other way around."

"You almost died, I'm not letting that happen again."
