Chapter 12

"Karen?" Lip asks
"Yep that's me!" She says, being wheeled in by Jodi
"I didn't know you two got married!"
"We're not married just dating" I say
"Oh well that's a shame" she says, getting comfortable in her bed
I look at with a
'I can't believe this is fucking happening' look
"I know" he mouths
"I'm surprised you two actually had sex" Lip says, earning a small laugh from me and a middle finger from Karen
"And I'm surprised you lowered your standards" she says
"If I wasn't in pain I'd kick your ass" I say
"Try me"
"Is there a problem here?" My doctor says, walking in
"No. No Dr.Wentz."
"Ok let's check your cervix"
"You're about 3 centimeters" she says
"Only three centimeters? I'm dilated 3 centimeters" Lip says
"Dr. Wentz, I've been at this for 17 hours! 2 women have came and gone and had their babies!"
"We're moving along, just slowly"
I lean back and sigh as Karen smirks
"I'm just about to push the baby out! Three centimeters that's gotta be kinda big right?"
"Uh no it's like this" Lip says, placing his hands and showing me how big three centimeters actually is
"Stupid metric system"
We see the door open and Debbie walk in
"Lip we gotta problem"
"I'll be right back love" he says, kissing my head
LIPS POV:
"Franks here" She says
"Seriously?"
"Yeah and he's drunk and high"
"Are you surprised"
"No but-"
"Call hospital security and tell them he's drunk and needs to leave"
She nods and walks off
SKYLARS POV:
"So how long have you and Lip been together?" Karen asks
"A year"
"And already having a baby" she says, shaking her head
"At least I know who the father is" I say
"Oh! Oh!" I say
"Contraction?" Lip asks
"Big one" I say
Dr.Wentz comes back in about 4 hours later
"10 centimeters. You're about to become parents"
Time Skip:
"He's so tiny"
"I know" Lip says
"Be careful with him! He's tiny"
Soon, he's placed into my arms
"Do we have a name yet?"
"Yes."
They get the birth certificate
"What's the first name?"
"Declan. D-e-c-l-a-n"
"Middle?"
"Phillip. P-h-I-l-l-i-p"
"Last name?"
"Gallagher. G-a-double l-a-g-h-e-r"
"Welcome to the world, Declan" the nurse says
They wheel us into a room where everyone can see him
"What's his name?" Carl asks
"Declan Phillip" I say
"Here Fi" I say, handing him to her
"Hey little guy. I'm one of your aunts. I'm gonna spoil you to the point where your parents will hate me" She says, passing him to Ian.
"Hey little fella, I'm your uncle Ian, that's your uncle Mick behind me. We already love you!"
"Hey I'm your aunt Debs. I know I'm gonna be your favorite"
"Hey I'm uncle Carl. Wow that's weird to say. I'm gonna teach you how to blow stuff up"
"No you aren't" Lip says
"Hey I'm Aunt Veronica,But you can call me Aunt V" she says
"He's beautiful" V says
"Thank you."
"Hey buddy, I'm Kev. You can come to me with any problems, just like your mom did"
"Hey, I'm Mackenzie. I'm only ten but you can call me your aunt"
He's passed back to me
I look at Lip
"Look. Look what we made" I say
"I know, we should make more"
"Woah slow down! I just pushed something the size of a watermelon out of something the size of the lemon. Give it a break"
"We're all going to head back to your house to get it ready for tomorrow okay? Call if you need anything" Fiona says as they walk out
"You should go home too, Lip"
"No. I'm staying here. With you"
"Where are you gonna sleep. You need it?"
"We can share your bed"
He climbs in next to me.
"I can't believe we're parents" he gasps
"Me neither."
~Flashback~
"I can't believe you love her" I say, rolling my eyes as I take a puff of the joint being passed around
"She's different. When I'm with Karen my heart races"
"It could be your dick rising" Ian says
"Either way I've never met someone like her"
"Yeah and I've never met any leper's either but I don't want to go out and have sex with them" I say
"Fuck off. You don't know anything about love" Lip says
"I beg to differ" I remark
"Oh really? Who are you in love with?"
"Lip stop it. Leave her alone" Ian says
"You" I whisper
"Me?" He says
"No I didn't"
"You said you love me"
"Well it doesn't fucking matter because you're getting head from Karen under the dining room table, you broke your foot jumping out the second story window because her dad caught her" I say
"You two are gonna end up together" Ian laughs
"In his dreams" I scoff
"Never in a million years" he says rolling his eyes

"Remember when you first started seeing Karen and Ian said we'd end up together?"
"Yeah. It's funny looking back on it because look at where we're at now. Together. With a kid and a house" Lip says

The next day, we're able to go home.
We walk out to the car that I bought with some of the life insurance money I got from my Aunt and buckle Declan into his car seat
"I can't believe we're parents" Lip says, looking at me
"Me either. Who knew that two rivals would have sex and make a beautiful baby"
"I'm sorry about how Karen was acting" a voice says from outside the car, making us jump
Lip rolls his window down
"Oh hey Jodi" he says
"I'm really sorry about her" he apologizes again
"We're used to it, been putting up with it a lot longer than you have"  I say as Lip drives off

We get home and see the front porches decorated
"They went all out huh" He says, getting Declan out of the car
"I'm so happy this baby will grow up surrounded by love."
"Me too"
"And can we agree on one thing?"
"Yes"
"He will never know my parents or Frank"
"Agreed"

We go to his nursery, which my vocal coach helped pay for, and sit him in his crib
"Will you watch him? I'm going to take a shower"
"Of course" Lip says, kissing me
I still can't believe I ended up with him

After my shower, I go back to our room to find lip asleep with Declan on his chest.
I take a picture and send it to Fiona

The next day
We decide to take Declan to the Gallagher house for the first time.
Lip and I are in the kitchen while Declan is asleep in his room
"What if Frank's there?" He says, running his hands over his mouth
"Then we'll leave. Invite everyone over here. Frank doesn't know where we live and we both know Ian wouldn't let him come anyway. It'll all be fine. I promise." I say
I put Declan in the baby sling, as we decided to walk the short distance to his siblings.
"Got the diaper bag? Extra clothes for him and us? Extra milk? Burp cloths?" I ask
"Yes baby I have everything. And if we need something we have some of Liam's old baby stuff anyways" he says
"Okay lets go" I say
Lip is carrying the bag in one hand and is holding mine in the other.

We get to the Gallagher house and see both Frank and my father
"Shit. I gotta go" Lip says
"Lip. Lip it's okay. Let's just talk to them. And if they say anything I'll take Declan in and you can punch them okay?"
He nods
"There's my son and his lovely girlfriend and their kid!" Frank says
"When did you have a kid?" My 'dad' asks
"3 days ago."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because you're a piece of crap"
"Well. Your mom is dead"
"Lip. Take Declan in" I say, handing him to Lip
Everyone comes back outside
"She was never here! She left!"
"She tried. She loved you"
"That was love?"
"Yes!"
"She didn't love me. She didn't love you. She didn't give a shit about anyone but herself and I'm glad she's dead"
"Why do you say that?"
"Because she can't fuck up my sons life"

At the funeral, I get there before anyone else
They wanted me to "make sure she looked presentable"
"Doesn't she look like an angel"
"Sure" i say, laughing
"Can I have a few moments alone with her"
"Of course"
"Fuck You, mom" I say, walking back to the car where Lip and Declan were
"Ready?"
"Yep. Said what I needed to say
"Which was"
"I finally got to say fuck you to her face"
