I blinked a few times and stood there, the words slowly sinking in. A date? With Tony?

So many questions were going through my head, and a big rush of excitement swallowed me. I smiled to myself at the thought of what we might do together. With Tony anything seems possible.

I run after him and grab his arm. "Wait, we're leaving now?"

He turns and gives me a weird look. "Yeah...when'd you think we'd go? I don't like waiting, you know. I'm not a patient man," he says matter-of-factly with a joking smile.

"Can I at least change?" I ask. I'm in my work out clothes and am all sweaty from my run. I do not feel ready for a date at all.

He looks me up and down and a chill runs through my body from the look in his eyes. "Why?" he shurgs. "You look beautiful just the way you are." I suck in a quick breath and he grabs my hand and leads me downstairs.

It feels like fire when he touches my hand and I don't ever want him to let go. I'm so distracted with the feeling that I miss what he says. "W-What?"

"We're gonna take the other car, is that okay?" he repeats. I nod, a little confused on why he would think it wouldn't be okay. But then again, he's always had people drive him around. I've never seen him by himself.

As he goes to open the garage door by putting in a code, he lets go of my hand, making me frown. A few minutes later we're sitting in the car and he pulls out of the drive way.

All of a sudden I become really nervous and start to chew on my finger nails. On top of that, my mind can't help but keep flashing back to what Tony said earlier about his mom. Did she really almost kill herself? And was it with those pills?

Tony seemed to recover pretty quickly after that statement. It doesn't seem right, like he's trying to hide something.

"Aren't you going to ask where we're going?" he interrupts my thoughts.

"Where are we going?" I finally ask.

The edges of his mouth twitch upward. "I'm not telling," he says. I groan in annoyance and he laughs.

I go back to gnawing on my nails and Tony glances over at me. "Don't do that, it's a terrible habit." He reaches over and pulls my hand out of my mouth. The butterflies grow in my stomach as he clasps our hands together and lays them on my thigh.

I can't help but peek over at him while he drives. The light stubble on his jaw outline his masculine appearance and I am drawn to the strong and commanding aura surrounding him. Lately, however, I find myself wanting him to trust me and show me his sensitive side behind that mask.

His eyes catch mine and I look away, I can feel the blush on my cheeks. He chuckles in amusement and I can feel the car come to a stop. "We're here," he says.

The first thing I see when I look forward is a huge Ferris wheel. We're at a fair!

I become so excited that I start bouncing in my seat. "Come on, let's go then," he laughs. We hop out of the car and I immediately run towards the entrance. A man gives us both paper bracelets from a small green booth and Tony pays.

As soon as we're through the front gate, I look around the fair and contemplate what to do first.

"Looks like I brought you to the right place, huh," Tony says referring to my excitement.

I nodded, "When I was younger my family and I always went to fairs like this. And I guess my homesickness has been taking a toll on me, so it's nice to be somewhere somewhat familiar," I explain.
