(Tony's POV)

"I really don't need a big party, guys, please tell me you didn't go all out," I ask Kenny and Lucas as I crack open a cold beer. They just barged in and spawled out on my couch, waiting for the time of the party.

"Nah, man, don't worry!" Kenny gushes as I hand him the beer. He brushes back his blond, surfer hair and starts gulping it down. Kenny and I have been friends since junior high, so he should know my taste in parties the best. However, I am still worried, becasue although he has known me a long time, he's a trouble and the only thing we have in common is our stubborness. "It'll be great, trust me."

I hand another beer to Lucas, my college friend who's more similar to me. If I'd have anyone plan my party, it's be Lucas. We share the same down-to-earth personalities.

As Kenny goes on about the party, I shoot Lucas a worried look. "I know you're only worried because your special lady friend's gonna be there, but, com'on, put a little trust into us," Lucas winks ith a chuckle.

I roll me eyes and chug my own beer, instantly regretting telling them about Kendal. I wasn't so nervous about the party before, bu ever since I called Jasmine yesterday, I can't stop picturing this over-blown night club rager with strippers and jello shots.

I mean, ragers are fun...in college. But now I'm just tired of that scene, and I don't think Kendal's into those kind of things either.

"So are you guys like a thing now?" Lucas asks.

I shrug. "I guess we are...I don't really know," I say.

"What's wrong? Seem a little hesitant."

"She doesn't want to tell the girls she's living with about us yet," I mutter. It still hurts that she said that.

Kenny laughs, "Dude, maybe you're just a one night stand to her!"

Lucas chuckles along with Kenny and I just flop onto the couch, finishing the last of my beer. "I don't think Kendal's just in for the sex," I say. "Once you meet her you'll understand more."

"Who knows, maybe I'll be her booty call tonight," Kenny bursts out into laughter again.

Lucas punches Kenny's arm. "Don't be a little bitch, Kenny," he shoots back.

"Anyway," I sigh, "where's this party at?"

'It's at this hot new place called Indigo Lounge," Kenny answers, rubbing the red mark on his arm.

"Sounds pretencious," I say while opening up another beer.

Kenny sets his beer on the table and then leans back with his hands behind his head. "That may be, but so are we."

"If anyone's the pretentious one it's just you," Lucas mutters.

While Kenny and Lucas bicker back and forth, my mind wonders off. I'm excited to see Kendal again, but nervous becasue the other girls are coming too. She will probably spend the whole time with them and barely talk to me. And if she does, it'll most likely be just polite conversation.

And God knows I want more than just that...

"Tony," Lucas snaps a few times in front of my face, "hey, man, it's time to go."

I blink hard and nod. I wipe the sweat off my forehead and press my cold beer against my cheek. Now's not the time to think about those things Tony...

I take one last gulp and head out the front door. We slide into the back seat of my car and Lucas gives my driver the address of the lounge.

When we first arrive, I find that my first insticts are right. Indigo lounge is 50 percent dim lights, 50 percent martinis, and 100 percent pretencious. But it certainly is the perfect place for the heir of a langerie company's party.
