I watch Tony's back disappear behind a swarm of journalists. They bicker and demand answers to unnecessary questions unrelated to stock revenue. The rest of the room population begins to file out.
I stand there for a few more minutes, waiting for him to break from the crowd and run into my arms. Only he doesn't. And it's pisssing me off.
Giving up, I file out with the last of the group and drag myself to the bar. The bartender comes over to me, but I shake my head. Not that I don't want a drink at a time like this, not that I can't get one since the drinking age is lower here, but it's because I don't think it's a good idea. The last time I got drunk I practically threw myself at Bryton, and the times before that weren't so pretty either.
I spin around in my bar stool, wanting a distraction. A few minutes later the doors to the conference room reopen. The reporters walk out, checking their phones, jotting things down, or just talking amongst themselves. Although their questions were almost irrelevant, they seem a lot more civilized than those freaking paparazzi.
I glance to the guarded doors of the hotel, discussed by them clawing at the glass. Suddenly their eyes widen and they immediately start flashing their cameras. I slowly turn my head back towards the conference room and see Tony walking out. There's a scrawny man in a suit on his phone to the right of him, and a stern-looking woman talking in a hushed tone to his left.
I can't help but notice that the woman, although very business like, is very pretty with a curvaceous body. Her black heels clack against the marble floors, the noise making me twitch at every step.
I also notice that they are walking in the direction of the elevators. So, instead of just helplessly sitting here waiting for his next appearance in the lobby, I slide on my sunglasses and grab my suitcase. I straighten my back and walk up behind them, going into the elevator after.
Tony turns as he presses the button, his eyes landing on me. They narrow in at me as I take an empty spot next to him. I stay cool, even though the overwhelming sensation to kiss him and beat him at the same time takes over me.
From my peripheral, I can see Tony's chest pump up and down with uneven breaths. I smirk a little, knowing he feels the same way I do. I can tell he's definitely surprised to see me here.
What seems like an eternity later, we reach the top floor, and his two business partners step out of the elevator. I stay put. So does Tony, which makes two confused expressions stare at us as the elevator doors close. The last stop is the roof.
When the elevator doors open again, we both storm out, and I rip off my sunglasses, dropping my suitcase in the process.
"What the hell Tony!" I scream at him. He stares back at me, wordless. I thought for sure he would be yelling at me, too.
"What's the matter with you?" I demand. He just stands there.
"What? Can't answer my question? Or do you just don't want to talk to me?" He makes no attempts of communicating.
I am beyond frustrated. I came all the way here, and for what? This? Not even the slightest reaction once I get alone with him? No! Out of all the scenarios I played in my head, silence was not one of them.
Wanting some kind of reaction, even if it was anger, I march forward and shove him with all the strength I can muster. He stumbles back a few steps, but otherwise nothing.
"Come on! What are you thinking?" I cry, hot tears streaming down my cheeks. "Why are you being so mean? Tony-"
I am cut off as he reaches out and slams me into his chest. I'm too shocked to do anything at first, but then immediately melt into him. I bury my face into his suit jacket, muffling my cries, and step closer to him. His arms tighten around me as he places his chin on top of my head.
