Late August...

That particular morning, I was reading a VOUGE magazine while Lisa helped—or rather, pretended to help—Riley with his homework.

Even as the summer vacation was coming to an end, I had to recur some forceful methods in order to make my child sit still for long enough to complete the last of his schoolwork.

Riley had been restless ever since his LILI had introduced him to the Entertainment Industry, and while I liked the prospect of the two of them spending time together, I was not particularly fond of the hours spent in his absence. Nor was I fond of the way nothing ever captured Riley's attention anymore.

But because I understood how fascinating every little discovery must seem to Riley so early in his journey, I kept my complaints to myself.

"I want to see one of these."

Riley's words snapped me out of my thoughts. When I raised my head and saw what exactly he was talking about, I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, of course~." I commented sarcastically.

Lisa, on the other hand, had a different reaction. "You want to see one?"

Turning my attention back to the two of them, I watched as Riley eagerly nodded his head.

Lisa grinned. "Well, then—"

"Lalisa Pranpriya Manoban!" I admonished, throwing a deadly glare in her direction.

Lisa blinked, as though surprised. "What?"

"Stop spoiling him."

"I haven't even finished my sentence~..." Lisa defended.

"It doesn't matter." I said. "I know what you're going to say."

Lisa's unsure, yet still somewhat mischievous, gaze slid to Riley, who looked back at her with hopeful eyes.
