Jimin POV

"Felix... it doesn't make any sense..." I groaned in annoyance as we continuously replayed the footage.

Yet, I felt no connection clicking in my mind.

"It does. If you saw them in the recordings, it's true."

"But why would they still be labelled missing persons if Jungkook is already gone? They work here to..."

"To protect you." Felix stated so calmly as if it was 100% obvious and he was confident nothing else could prove him wrong.

"W-What?" There's no way... right?

"Think about it. Every time they talked with Jeon, it was always about you. Be any situation, good or bad, it was you. Then Jungkook would mention this book writing and then some words that we can't figure out."

"Wait books!"

"Books what?"

"The words at the end! Their book titles!"

"How the hell would they be book titles?"

"He always mentions story lines, and something possibly related to prison. Help Me See, as in prison is supposed to be eye opening for criminals to learn and reflect on their crimes. Cold Blood as in, you can murder anyone and land in prison and it doesn't matter, you would still have cold Blood. Escape, as in he reached his capacity for sanity. He broke and wanted out. It'd only work with patience in the book."

"Wow. I didn't even think of it like that. But I feel like there's something more to it..." Felix questioned the situation and how it could be something more.

"What do you mean?"

"I feel like Jungkook wanted you to see these videos and to figure it out. Maybe if we find the books in the prison, we can see what he meant. If there isn't anything there-"

"What if it's numbers or coordinates?"

"Huh?"

"What if we have to translate all those letter into numbers and maybe it's a phone number? Then we call the phone number and see what they say... you're good with tech, so how about you try to phone number thing while I go track down the library books?"

"Meet back here ASAP."

I rushed out of the room, trying to find those god damn books.

"FBI, I need to search through your library available for prisoners. It's for case #967." I introduced myself to the prison librarian.

"Yes sir, no one has any books signed out as of right now so you will probably be able to find any book required for ghetto investigation."

"H...H.... ah found it! Help Me See!" I picked it up, feeling suddenly confused on why exactly the book was not as heavy as it seemed.

Here goes...

I flipped to the first page, seeing it covered in blood drips.

What the fuck?

Continuing to flip through each page, I found the centre of the book, all carved out, with objects inside.

My name was labelled on all of those objects.

There was an assortment of keys, Polaroid pictures, broken glass, and oddly, a note.

It read:

I know you can see this. I know that I've escaped and am progressing with my story. But what you won't know is where to find me~ Just remember, I've only ever seen ashes and blood with beautiful carvings of death ever since I was born...

What does he mean by all of this?

I shoved the book into my backpack, and looked for the next book.

"Cold Blood..."

This time, the front page held odd writings that I couldn't understand.

Like it was in a different language.

God Jeon, you really like to piss me off.

I flipped to the centre of the book, finding it carved out again.

More Polaroids, a bloody pocket knife, and a bracelet.

What the hell does he have planned?

The third book.

Escape...

First page had nothing but a smile, created out of blood streaks. Creepy, don't ya think?

The centre.

Carved out.

But there was only two things.

A lighter with blood on it.

And...

Yet, another bracelet.

This still scares me to the core.

I left the building, running back into my office. Hoping I wasn't going to be interrupted, my body dodged majority of human interactions.

"Jimin woah! Why are you running?"

"Sorry, I panicked hyung. Thought I was being chased all the way here. Did you need anything, Hoseokie?"

"Not at all, and let me know when you're done with the Lee Cassie file. I think I have a way to track down his cult and it'd start with her."

"Yeah I'll bring it down once I'm finished." I smiled brightly at him, even though all I felt was betrayal.

Hurts like a bitch.

"Felix! You can read Japanese, right?"

"Yeah... why?"

"What does this say?" I opened the second book.

"You will only be mine if I destroy everyone else and they drown in their own blood. I am psychotic... but only for you..."

"Did you decipher the letters to numbers?"

"Yea... it's a phone number."

We were about to call but I told him that I'll talk.

"Hello?"

"Password?"

"Can I at least get a hint?"

"Birthday."

"October 13, 1995." I guessed.

"Correct. Please wait as we connect to a leader."

Leader?

What does that even mean?

"Finally figured out what those books meant all those years ago?"

"Whatever, why are you doing this?"

"I'm not sure what you mean?"

"Why do you keep following me? Keep ruining every chance I get?"

"I won't lose that perfect ending of the novel. Even if everyone else is gone and the ending still wins, I'll be happy."

"Makes no fucking sense to me at all but okay? Don't think I don't know what you're doing. You have resources, and I have my own."

"Stay in the place you work best in... no amount of resources you gain will compare to mine. I'll be keeping touch."

"Listen here Jeon... you try finding me, hurting me, use me for anything... you will die. I'll make sure you don't wake up ever again, promise."

"Park... don't make promises you can't keep, understand?"

"I'm not lying about anything... and quite assuming shit bout me, it gets annoying."

"Do you remember the one ability we both shared since birth? Psychoanalysis? Well, I've already figured you out before you've even discovered yourself, and I know exactly how everything rolls out."

"People change, so don't think I'll be your puppet or whatever."

"People change... you'll change in my favour, keep waiting and watching..."
