a starry night was in full bloom
all had retired to their respective beds
I was moving up and about
with the blaring silence in my head
it was unlike any other night
I found it difficult to go to sleep
tossing and turning for some time
I jumped when I heard a beep
it was my phone glowing with a text
from a friend living far away
I felt a bit better seeing the name
and happily sighed seeing her "hey"
all my childish fears vanished
the heart in my chest turned light
instant smiles wiped away the frowns
which had marred a lonely night
for the survival of this sleepless night, on her did I depend,
for a friend in need is indeed a trustworthy friend
