Chapter 2- Hell hound attacks

Katie POV:

It was a normal summer day at Camp Half-Blood- sunny hot sweltering heat. Me and travis were on border patrol for and hour and it was SO boring. Travis being Travis begged me to let him go and let him go back to camp for more pranks with Connor and flirting with other girls. I said no obviously but part of me was kinda hurt that he wanted to just leave me here, and the other half was infuriated that he wants to flirt with other girls and not hang out with me. Travis is a bit of a player at camp and has practically dated all the Aphrodite girls and Apollo girls as well. He tried Athenas girls but they still hate him and Connor for pranking them numerous times.I mean don't get me wrong Travis was a dreamboat in his own way... wait what did i just say!?!?! thought Katie. My train of thought promptly ended when Travis spoke

"Katie- kat what's wrong? You look distracted"

" Well i am ok i'm in sweltering heat and can't stand being here and not in the lake!" i snapped.

" Woah ok kates no need to get that irritated" he remarked 

"DON'T CALL ME THAT" Katie snarled

Travis looked a bit terrified  and i found it pretty damn funny but I didn't dare say a word because then he would start bugging me again.I sighed and got ready to  tell him that he could go and leave me in my lonely peace but then suddenly out of no where a saytr came bounding through the camp barriers with a girl running in front of him looking terrified as ever. I was just about to ask whats wrong when suddenly a hell hound came through hurtling itself towards the saytr and the girl.

"TAKE HER GO!" the saytr screamed. 'SAVE HER"

I was taken aback by his willingness to die but took a moment to actually be brought in to the real world where i saw Travis slashing furiously at the hell hound yelling at me to take the girl and saytr to safety!

"NO! I WON'T LEAVE YOU TRAVIS!" I yelled. The hell hound must have heard me because the next thing  i know I'm being pinned to the ground by it. Its breath smelled like rotting flesh and its 50 tonne weight began to fully dump on me. I heard Travis yelling and cursing in greek as he was trying and oh so clearly failing to get its attention. The claws were now digging their way past my shoulder blades and i yelped in pain.I tried to push it off but it was way to heavy. The last thing i saw was Travis jumping on its back before i passed out of pain.

Travis POV

Great Katie was unconscious, the frickin hell hound still sitting on her.. i mean what is wrong with the hound! Hello Katie wasn't looking for a demonic boyfriend. Anyway the girl was screaming and the saytr was backing away slowly to get to the demigod. I found fury building up in my chest and the next thing a knew voila the hellhound exploded in its disgusting pollen guts and Katie was STILL unconscious. I made my way over to her and slung her over my shoulder. Not the most comfortable position for her shoulder but i needed to make sure the demigod and saytr weren't to shaken up. I offered my hand to the girl and said "you hoo are you coming or not we have a dying demigod and why knows of there is anything else in this forest."

The girl accepted my hand and stood up without wobbling first. Then the saytr came upend say don't worry about it no more heading our way besides once we cross over the boundaries then we will be safe." I was astounded by his steady voice and then started walking through the border with the girl hand in hand.
