"Okay,I want to go swimming!" She changed the subject.
"Swimming? Where?" I asked.
"They call it the 'Alley Way Creek' , you're new here , so you probably haven't really heard of it, even though everyone's been talking about. Literally every Saturday all the school kids go down there and party."
"Uh,you are not the party type! Remember that..." I replied.
"So? I don't have to be the party type to go to a party. Were going!"
"But I never agreed to it. You are acting way different than your usual 'people pleasing self.'
"People change." She replied.
"Yeah, but not you."
"Besides, Connor is suppose to be there."
"Oh, that's what this is all about ... Lovey-dovey-Connor." I figured.
"Stop saying that. He's a really sweet guy and I wish you would respect my decision on liking him!" She stated.
"Fine, we'll go. Okay?" I gave in.
"Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!" She yelled with excitement while jumping up and down hugging me.
"Wait-how are we going to get there?" I asked curiously.
"Um, I thought you could drive?" She answered.
"I only have my permit! I can't drive by myself."
"Oh great... Looks like your mom will have to drive us." She said unhappily staring down at the floor.
"Yep! My mom is driving us to a high school party... How cool are we?" I said sarcastically.
"So cool..." She used the same tone.
We laughed.
We walked down the stairs to greet my mom sitting down on the couch watching TV.
"Hey ma! Can you drive us to this creek? We want to go swimming."
"Yeah, sure. Where is it located?" She asked.
"I don't know, but Abigail can tell you how to get there....and how to leave....fast!" I said trying to let her know.
Yeah.. We both looked guilty... I mean of course my mom would never let us go to a high school party. Bad things usually happen.
"Uh.... Okay? I guess.Let me get my keys first." My mom answered unsure.
"Yay!" Abbi and I both looked at each other while clapping our hands excitedly.
--
15 minutes later...
"Okay, then you turn right up here and it should lead you straight to it.But drop us off right here, I want Gen to walk down the trail with me."
The car came to a halt and we both jumped out and grabbed out towels and walked down the trail so we could get to the party faster and without my mom seeing what were doing.
As soon as we got near the end of the trail we could already hear party music blaring.
There were beer cans and bottles and balloons and lots of girls dancing while the guys jumped from a rope that hung from a nearby tree. They landed in the water with a yell of an adrenaline rush.
And then of course you've got your stereotypical girls and guys who were making-out near the vehicles they drove.
"Wow, there must be like 100 people here!" I yelled over the loud music so Abigail could hear me.
