Class was finally ending.
'Uh,I'm so glad this dumb class is over!' I thought to myself.
"Hi,I'm Abigail. You are Genesis Taylor, right?"
"How did you know?" I asked.
"Well, it's hard not to notice.Especially when you were the center of attention for 10 minutes."
"Right... Well, it's nice to meet you abigail. But weren't you the one to be on the teachers side?"
"Yes, I have to. And I'm sorry about that too."
"I'm confused..your on my side, but the teachers side also?"
"Yes,Gen,if I may call you that.Genesis just seems so long,I have a problem with 3 syllable words and names."
"Lots of people call me that, you are more than welcome to also.I think you got a little off topic though. Are you the teachers pet?" I asked, making her get to a point.
"No,more like the teachers daughter.."
"You're what??! No way.. No.. That's unbelievable!" I exclaimed.
"Well, you better believe it.Because it's true.My name is Abigail Jeffreys." She explained.
"This may seem rude, but I feel sorry for you.You have to put up with...that!" I said pointing to the teacher, whom gave me the evil eye.Ugh,she reminds me of my mom in some weird distorted way.
"I know.People tell me that everyday.Even other teachers!" Explained Abigail.
"Do you want to walk with me to lunch?" I asked.
"Sure, but my lunch isn't the early hour,it's the second to last,so I can't eat with you."
"Oh.Too bad, it would've been nice to eat with someone that was nice."
"Yeah, but I will still walk with you!" Abigail said happily.
"Alright, lead the way! Literally..I don't know how to get there."
Abigail laughed and brought me to the lunch room. There were about three hundred kids already eating and sitting at tables with all their friends.
'Where do I want to sit?'
I landed my eye on a group of girls laughing together. I went over and tried to be the most confident person so they wouldn't think I was a dorky nerd or whatever.
"Hello,I'm Gen.Is this seat taken?"
"Uh,yeah.." Said a skinny girl.
"Oh, what about this seat?"
"That one too."
"This one? As I moved farther down.
"Yeah, you know what they are all taken!" The same girl cut-to-the-chase.
"But there is a whole table not filled." I said in confusment.
They just kind of smirked at me and whispered upon themselves.
"Well,where can I sit,then?" I asked kind of hurt.
"Over there." A girl pointed all the way across the room to the table with the nerds playing chess and calculating math equations and translating them into Ancient Greek.
"Seriously? Why can't I just sit here?" I asked.I was slowly losing all the confidence it took to even talk to them.Or anyone..
"It's simple, you're a freak. And were not." Said a girl with bleached blonde hair.
I walked slowly from the table and gave a good look around.
It was obvious,I don't fit in here.I don't feel welcome.
