For a while, Electra had simply... disappeared, and so did her mother soon after. The school year had already ended, summer was almost over, and the Marauders were entering their 6th year without their 5th best friend. After the first few months, talk of Electra began to dwindle. She didn't appear in any more papers, so James hoped and prayed that she was safe and doing okay for herself.
At first, losing her felt so unbearable, he could barely walk. He knew it was all psychological, that he could actually walk, but the weight on him felt so heavy he just couldn't bring himself to stand. Sirius, who stayed at the Potters' house over break, was very important to him during the beginning. Making sure he ate, stayed hydrated, showered, and slept were all tasks that once came so easily to him that he now had to be constantly reminded of.
While their main focus was James, the other Marauders were not to be mistaken as uncaring. Remus and Peter sent letters to James and Sirius about information they'd found, whether it was useful or not. Typically, it wasn't useful. There was only one time when it was, and it was a photograph of Electra that had been taken recently. They had no clue where, but she definitely looked different.
Sirius didn't show James that one. Even looking at her would've hurt him.
Eventually, it began to get better. James started getting out of bed and walking to make food, water, or even just to take a jog. He never spoke of Electra again, and neither did his friends.

"I can't believe it's already our 6th year," James sighed, shaking his head.
"Me either. It feels like just yesterday we were measly first years," Remus chuckled to himself.
"I still don't know what I'm going to do after we graduate."
"You could always travel. You seem like the type," Peter piped in.
"Travel?" Sirius mused.
"Yeah. You know, you're a wizard. You'd be able to apparate anywhere. You could probably also just steal food."
"You know, that doesn't sound too bad."
"I don't particularly mind what you do, Sirius, as long as you make sure to visit me and Lily all the time," James spoke pridefully, "we've already started to discuss the name of our first child."
"When did that happen?" Remus asked.
"Toward the end of summer, we kind of got in contact and, well... things just happened, I guess."
"That's good!" Sirius exclaimed.
"What are the options?"
"Well, if it's a boy, we were thinking Harry, but if it's a girl, maybe... Rowan or something cool."
