"Wait so there was a THREE headed dog standing on a trapdoor?" Estella hissed.

"Shh!" Hermione exclaimed, looking around wildly.

"Hermione, I'm being quiet, besides I don't think anyone's paying attention," the redhead gestured to the Charms class who were currently trying to get their feathers to float.

Hermione sighed. "I just don't want to get in trouble. I can't believe those idiots almost got me expelled," she glared at Ron and Harry, who was busy trying stamp fire out of his feather.

"It wasn't our bloody fault!" Ron hissed. "You were the one who decided to follow us and stick your nose where it doesn't belong."

Hermione turned a faint pink. "Someone had to make sure you two didn't do anything completely stupid. Focus on your feather Ronald," she reprimanded. The ginger rolled his eyes.

"So wait," Estella began. "The third floor corridor has a giant three headed dog who's guarding a trapdoor?"

"Apparently," Harry muttered, getting his feather to lift slightly.

"And you didn't invite me?" Estella pouted teasingly.

"You should be glad," Hermione sighed. "Ronald, it's LeviOsa not LeviOsA," she snapped, grabbing his hand.

"Well you do it then if you're so smart," Ron retorted.

Hermione smiled primly. "Wingardium Leviosa!" Her feather rose faintly in the air and Professor Flitwick gave a little squeal.

"Lookin here! Miss Granger's done it!"

Ron promptly set his feather on fire.

"It's LeviOsa, not LeviosA!"

Estella and Hermione were walking out of charms while Ron complained in front of them.

"She's a nightmare, honestly. It's no wonder she hasn't got any friends."

Estella's breath caught as she looked at Hermione, whose eyes had suddenly gotten rather red. "Hermione.." but her friend was already turning away. She strode up to the ginger boy. "Really Ron?"

"What?" the boy looked slightly guilty. "It's the truth. She's such a know it all."

"Well maybe if you encouraged her more, she wouldn't feel to need to show off," Estella pointed out hotly.

"Says you," Ron fought back. "I don't even know why you hang around us. You're a Slytherin. Go be loyal to your own house."

Harry looked uncomfortable. "Cmon Ron, let's go." He sent Estella an apologetic look. "See you Penny."

Estella was left in the middle of the courtyard, mouth open wordlessly, confusion seeping her bones.

"Cmon Hermione," Estella begged, knocking on her friends stall. "You've been hiding all day, it's time to show Ronald that he's wrong."

"I'm perfectly comfortable right here, thank you," Hermione's tearful voice drifted through the door.

"But.."

"PENNY BLACKWOOD GO TO THE RUDDY FEAST!"

Estella jumped and gave a small nod. "Alright, alright. If you're sure." She paused. "Hermione you're my best friend."

The was a moment of quiet. "Thank you."

Estella left the lavatory and headed to the Great Hall, which was all decorated for Halloween. She slid into a seat next to Tracy, who looked at her.
