Estella bit her lip as she finished the last question on her Charms exam. Flitwick took it with an approving nod and she let out a sigh. The practical section hadn't been too bad either, but the assessments still made her nervous. She was somewhat bolstered by her Defense Against the Dark Arts exam, however. Lupin has seemed rather impressed and she had been able to banish the Boggart quickly. It helped that she had extra practice, the Slytherin reflected as she packed her books in her bag.
"You finished?" Hermione asked her, hurriedly as she also stood to leave.
"Yes. And yes I found question eight rather difficult," Estella grinned as she anticipated her friend's question.
Hermione sighed as they headed down the corridor. "I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, what's your last exam?"
"Divination." Estella groaned, rolling her eyes. "I should have left that class when you did."
"You should have," Hermione turned to go the opposite direction. "I thought I was going to go mad. Anyways, good luck!"
Estella shook her head as she grudgingly climbed up the ladder. As she popped open the door and climbed into the dim room, Trelawney spun around. The Seer's gaze was clouded and Estella immediately grew uneasy. "Professor?" she asked warily.
"I SAY AGAIN AS I SAID LONG AGO." Trelawney began raspily, her voice trembling. "BEWARE FOR ANOTHER. A CHILD BORN TO ONE WHO SWORE LOYALTY TO THIS DARKNESS AT ALL COSTS. IN THEM THE ANSWER LIES AND IF THEY CHOOSE THE RIGHT PATH, OUR FOE MAY BE FOREVER VANQUISHED."
Estella's breath caught and she froze. This was her prophecy. Her mother had told her about it long ago, but she had never heard it in person. The girl took a hesitant step forward. "Is there anything more?" she questioned evenly.
Suddenly Trelawney's eyes cleared and she stood blinking wildly as the room brightened. "So sorry," she exclaimed, twisting her ragged hair. There was a pause before she seemed to notice Estella. "Oh! Did you need something?"
"I'm just here to take my exam," Estella stammered.
"Oh right, have a seat," the professor absently gestured to a crystal ball. "Tell me what you see."
A few minutes later Estella climbed down and turned to see Harry waiting.
"Er how'd it go?" the boy stammered, running his fingers through his hair.
"Odd." Estella's voice echoed as she stood frowning. She gave herself a shake. "But the most pointless thing I've ever done. I just made up a load of rubbish, add death and doom and you'll be fine."
Harry gave a small chuckle. "Right then," he turned to enter the classroom.
Estella frowned, she wasn't going to leave Harry alone with the crazy witch. "I'll wait here for you, Trelawney's rather unpredictable you know," she forced a wink.
Harry laughed nervously as he descended up. Estella sat against the stone wall and waited, her hands shaking. Hearing the prophecy made it all seem more real. She was lost in thought when Harry came scrambling back down. She leaped to her feet "What happened?"
Harry looked extremely dazed. "I think she just gave a prophecy."
Estella's breath caught. "Which one?"
Harry frowned, confused. "Trelawney said before midnight tonight that the Dark Lord's servant will set out to rejoin his master."
She froze. This was very bad.
