Monachopsis (Sirius Black)

Chapter II

Mira's Pov

"Meow. Meow... MMROWW-"

" Alright, Alright. Merlin, Antares!"

I yawned, and rubbed my eyes. I opened them, to be met with Antares yellow ones. She meowed at me again, scratching my bed post. " No! Bad Antares! No scratching the bed post, you know that." I scolded the black cat, as she looked at me. I didn't care if this was the wizarding or muggle world, I knew she could understand me.

I grabbed Antares, and shoved her off my bed. She landed with a thump, and I snickered quietly. "Stupid cat. Lucky I love you" I said. I looked to Bella's bed, to see it was empty. 'she must've already gone to breakfast' I thought to myself.

Grumbling, I swung my legs off of my bed, and went to bathroom that the girls and I shared. I took a quick shower, before drying my hair with a spell I learnt off of Andromeda. Walking back towards my drawers, I put on my uniform. It was chilly, so I decided on a cardigan as well as my robes. Glancing at the clock in my dorm, I realised I had half an hour before I had to make my way to Potions. I grimaced as I remembered I shared it with the Gryffindors. I walked back towards my bed, and opened 'Most Macabre Monstrosities' and started on the page I had left off from last night.

I had just finished the chapter on 'Werewolves and Lycanthropy', as a certain blonde girl stumbled into my dorm. Closing my book, I glance up at her and grinned.

Narcissa.

She at first didn't notice me, as she stumbled to her bed, while kicking off her heels. I took a moment to observe her appearance, and to say she looked terrible was an understatement.

" Looks like you had fun." I teased, as I stifled a laugh. Her head whipped to me, like a deer caught in a headlight.

" Er- well I suppose-"

"But I suppose you always have fun when you're with Lucius-" I was cut off by Cissy throwing her heel at me.

" oh shut up you. Give a girl some peace would you?" She groaned, sinking onto her bed. I watched in amusement, as I looked up at the clock.

" Well, perhaps I will give you some peace. Not that it would make much difference." I shrugged carelessly, getting up and collecting my book bag and wand. She looked at me suspiciously.

" What?" She asked curiously. I smirked as I walked towards the door, only answering her when I was nearly out the door.

" Potions start in ten minutes."

I quickly shut the door, as I heard Cissy let out a scream of frustration. I giggled, as I hurried down the stairwell, and dashed out of the common room.

I swiftly entered the classroom, surveying the people in my class. Grimacing at the Gryffindors, I made my way over to Andromeda, who was smiling at me. I looked past her, to see Rodolphus waving me over. I resisted the urge to walk out of the classroom.

"Exactly on time, as per usual." Andromeda remarked, settling down next to me. I grinned lazily.

" Would you expect any less Andy?"

She rolled her eyes in amusement, while grabbing her potions book out.

Professor Slughorn came out of his office, and walked over to the chalkboard. I sighed inwardly, as he took his time writing on the board. The man was nice, but annoyingly naive and gullible. Although it did work to my advantage in some cases.

" Good morning class! Our first class of the term! Now, before we begin I would like to-"

Slughorn however was interrupted by a loud slam of the door, as two Gryffindors entered the room, with Narcissa trailing behind, her face flushed with embarrassment. I grinned at her, before peering at the faces of the two most unlikable people in Hogwarts.
