The one day that changed her life.

Chapter 5: First date

I woke up and rolled over to the side of the bed which had the bedside table with my phone, I looked at my phone with my eyes burning from the light, I turned down the brightness so it didn't look like I was looking towards the sun, it was 7:30am so I had an hour until I had to pick up Jesse. I rolled back over and just stared at the wall that was empty. I pulled of the sheets and got out of bed, walked into the bathroom and looked into the mirror, I had bags under my eyes, bed hair that looked like my hair had been in a tournado, I thought to my self I had a lot to do before I was ready to even leave the house let alone go and see a gorgeous guy! So I turned on the shower and jumped in. After the shower I got into my jodpurs, polo shirt and pulled on some socks, I looked into the mirror and thought wow amazing date outfit right here! By then it was 8am and Maroubra was good 20min drive from where I lived so I grabbed some food and my bag and left my apartment complex. I walked to my car which was a nissan ute and hopped in.

I pulled up to Jesse's apartment block and called him to say I was here. He picked up and said be ther in a minute. I waited in my car and just had a quick scan to make sure the car didn't look to messy but most of it was actually hay and dirt from the stables. He walked out of his building and hopped into my car, I started driving and for the first few minutes it was an awkward silence but then we got talking.

After a good hour of driving and talking we arrived at my stables.

"So this is it" we hopped out of the car and walked in, I walked into the kitchen area and put down my bag in the usual spot, I walked out into the breezeway to see Jesse patting one of the horses named Barney. I called him over and we walked out to the paddocks. I know where my horse William is because he isnt to far away from the stable block.

"Ok lets go and get my horse William or Willy." We walked over to the paddock and I picked up his halter and went into his paddock leaving Jesse to wait and open the gate.

"So this is him!" I walked over to Jesse and he started to nuzzle him hoping he had some carrots for him like he does to everyone being food obsessed! Jesse patted him.

"He is so big Jess! But he is so nice!" Jesse looked at william in amazment even though he really isn't that big.

I loved the fact that he got along with him and he liked him. Jesse opened the gate and I walked him out and into the breezeway. I tied Willy outside his stable and started to take off his rugs. Jesse just couldn't leave willy alone, he kept patting him and just wouldn't keep his hands off! I opened my grooming box and gave him a brush

"If you are going to stand there you may aswell do something usefull!" I said to Jesse in a playful way.

I grabbed my gear and threw it on, I warned Jesse to step away while I did up the girth since willy is girthy.

I walked William out into the arena with Jesse, I pulled willy around and hopped on, I started to walk him around and told Jesse just to sit down. I felt bad just asking him to sit down and sit there while I walk around and not exactly talk to him.

While I was walking around I started to circle and pick up trot, I just let him stretch down and let loose before I started the harder dressage.

After about 45mins William was tired so I let Jesse get on. He lifted himself onto William and I walked around next to them while he walked around. He looked really good on him and he looked like he was enjoying himself.

He eventually got off and I walked William back into the stables. I un tacked and washed him down then put him back into his paddock. We walked out to the car and jumped in.

We started driving and on the way back we stopped for lunch and coffee.

Once we arrived back at Maroubra and I pulled up to jesses place and I thanked him for coming. It wasn't exactly the typical end of a date since he just got out and left. I started to worry that I just gave him the worst date ever since he had said nothing basically the hole date. I just had to drive home.

I arrived back at my place and walked into my apartment and just sat down on the couch I just worried. Now I was so worried about going to work tomorrow since I was on a shift with Jesse. And he was probably going to tell maxi and then he would know. My phone buzzed and I leant over and it was from Jesse:

"Hey Jess, thanks for a really good time and it was amazing to get to ride again and I hope we can do it again! Can't wait to see you tomorrow at work! xx"

I just couldn't say how relived I was about that message! Now I was so excited about going to work tomorrow!
