Liam continued
"Sit on the counter Layla." I ordered her as I got some towels and alcohol to clean the cuts.
"Hold this against your head." I handed her an ice pack and cleaned out her cuts on her elbows and knees. She winced at the pain.
"Sorry." Was the only word she said.
"For what? Being stupid and leaving with a prick like Eric?"
She looked into my eyes and the churning feeling came back to me. She nodded again.
"Don't go back to being quiet." I almost begged her to talk to me but she didn't.
I wrapped the bandages around her knees and moved up to her head.
She closed her blue eyes and breathed slowly.
"I'm sorry." She repeated but it wasn't meant for me she was talking to someone else, herself. Tears started falling down her face her slow breathing turned into big gasps of air. She broke down.
"Shhhh it's going to be alright." I wrapped my arms around her neck stroking her hair gently.
"Sorry." She said in a mere whisper directing it towards me.
"Don't be. Don't be sorry."
She pulled away from my hug and looked into my eyes. Her small lips were quivering, she looked broken. But she was still beautiful.
I tucked a strand of raven coloured hair behind her slightly pointy ears.
"I don't like seeing pretty girls cry." I wiped her tears away with my thumb and continued cleaning up her head.
"Go take a shower Ill be downstairs waiting we can watch a movie or something." I shrugged as she hopped off the counter and gave me an unexpected hug.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
*13 minutes later*
I hear loud sobs from upstairs coming from the bathroom. Immediately I ran up the stairs and knocked on the door.
"Layla let me in."
The sobbing became louder.
"Layla please." I whispered.
She wouldn't open the door or even come out.
I went to my room and grabbed a safety pin. Putting the sharp end in the doorknob moving the safety pin around. I heard the door click.
Layla was on the floor with a lighter and her razor.
I rushed to her side and took the razor away. Tossing the lighter across the floor.
"Stop it Layla don't do this." Looking into her eyes.
"Why?"
"Because you don't deserve this Layla."
"Yes I do." She whispered barely audible. She stared at the blood dripping down her forearms.
Picking up her chin I looked at her ocean blue eyes again that were blood shot.
"Promise me you'll stop."
She nodded her head no.
"Please."
She shook her head once again.
I sighed "You're right, I can't stop you. But just know every time you hurt yourself you're hurting me as well. Just remember."
I stood up and got bandages to wrap around Layla's forearms.
"Layla look at me."
She raised her head so we were eye to eye.
"I care. I care about what you're doing to yourself. Just remember."
I handed her back the razor and the lighter.
"Remember."
I stood up and offered to help Layla off the floor. She looked at my hand hesitantly and took it.
"Want to um watch a movie or something?"
She nodded and I grabbed her hand leading he downstairs. She jumped as soon as our skin met. But yet so did I.
"What do you want to watch?" I asked while she sat on the couch.
"Whatever." She said quietly.
I grabbed Aladdin of the cd shelf and popped it in to the player.
Layla laughed a little as she saw Aladdin show on the screen.
"It's one of my favorites."
"Same." She smiled at me.
Within 30 minutes of the movie. The door opened revealing a blonde, the one I was kissing today to be exact. Her name I believe was Gwen.
Wait woah I have her my key what a dummy.
"Liam where are you, what about those plans of ours?" She called from the front door.
Layla and I exchanged frantic looks, she nodded and ran into the kitchen to hide.
"Oh there you are Liam, I was looking from my sugarbear."
God those damn names. She sat on my lap and gave me a big sloppy gross kiss. I didn't like it one bit. I'd prefer to kiss Layla's small scrunched up lips.
Wait why am I thinking of Layla? Oh god.
I shook the thoughts out of my head and Gwen was gone.
"What is she doing here?!" I heard her yell from the kitchen.
I ran into the kitchen and saw Gwen punching Layla until she was coughing up blood. Jesus Layla was having a bloody awful day. (No pun intended)
"Stop Gwen."
She continued beating Layla her skin began to turn a monstrous purple.
"Stop!" I yelled and pushed Gwen away. But she continued to jump Layla.
I heard the front door open again and footsteps approach the kitchen.
Devin showed up and threw Gwen over the shoulder leading her out of my house.
He looked back me and pointed to Layla mouthing 'Help her'
Devin turned around with Gwen and walked away.
Wait how did he know about this happening?
"I'm sorry Layla." I wiped the tears and blood off her face with my sweater.
"It's okay."
It's nice to know that I can't even protect this girl.
"No it's not" I mumbled under my breath while wiping away the rest of the blood on arms.
She lifted my chin and we locked eyes which lasted for an eternity. I could she now that her ocean blue eyes turned to a stormy blue sea.
I inched my face closer to hers and our lips touched. I pulled away immediately looking back at her. She looked shocked.
"I'm sorry."
But she wasn't looking at me she was looking at someone else,Devin....
