Most people employed in the police force are either corrupt and cunning or naive and stupid. But God had planned for this also, he had sent someone on Earth the same time as Rudra and he had a big role in the coming future, he would serve as his comrade, and his friend, he was a police inspector. His name was Sangrām Singh.
He had not achieved a lot, because he was an incorrigible, devoted, simple and intelligent person. He had the power and the sense of righteousness people would not get to see in this era.
He was not an Avatar of any great God, he was not a part of the holy trinity, he was merely a strong and just force reborn on this corrupt planet to help the almighty rid it of all and any corruption.
Sangrām did not know that, but he would meet Rudra soon.
The only work he had done was stay at this post for so many years, he had achieved this post with so much hard work, he did everything to avoid the corrupt superiors and the corrupt superiors knew this, so like the cunning people they were, they did not send their subordinates his way, no, this is not a Bollywood story, they had seen what he used to do to people that were corrupted, and knew no good would come from locking horns with him.
This worked out well for Sangrām, he did not want to lose his post, so confronting them would mean losing it but to do his part he discouraged those not part of them, in a very crude manner, from joining them.
This helped him in keeping his post and maintaining the balance.
This would change very soon, after joining Rudra, for the plan would cause a chaos that would lead to a big change, would cause him to lock horns with anyone and everyone.
From a normal police officer, he would become a messenger of Goodness and Justice. He would fulfill his role in the plan and righteousness would be restored.
He had fought his evil brother earlier to protect his kingdom, now he would fight for everything good in existence again.
If he knew what was to happen soon, he might have gone home and had a few drinks that day. But he chose to stay at the police station and do his work. The thought of going home early crossed his mind, but he brushed off the thought and continued working.
It was around 2:00 pm that a woman entered the police station. The constables were too busy to notice her, she quietly and swiftly kept on walking inside, penetrating the deep layers of the police station.
A man blocked her way, "Why are you here again? I told you, we would call you as soon as we get some progress on your missing child!"
The woman looked up at the man and almost instantly the man backed off.
"Kya hua re bhai? (What happened man?)" said Sangrām.
"Sir, she looks like a ghost!"
He laughed and went towards the woman who was walking closer to him.
"There are no such things as ghosts, Shivam! You are just seeing...."
The woman kept her hands on his shoulders.
Sangrām got a good look at her face. Her eyes seemed empty, her pupils were dilated so much, seemed like you could put in a hose and fill her eyes with water. Her skin was so pale, it was akin to a white bed sheet, so wrinkled, and small veins had popped up on her face, dark blue veins, tears were falling down her cheeks. Her hair was disheveled, she was so thin, it seemed that her skin was barely hanging onto her by her bones. She was wearing a saree that barely hung on, whatever was left of a saree that is. Her fingernails so long and broken, bloody, but with blood clotted long ago, this was a woman who had lost the will to live and was just hanging by a sliver of hope.
Something about Sangrām changed her expression, she told him,"You'll save him, you are the saviour....back again, but this time you'll fight with a brother rather than against him."
As soon as she said this, she fell down on the floor and immediately after, turned to dark, sticky, red liquid, almost like blood. Coagulated blood.
Sangrām was petrified.
"D...d....d....did....any....o....one...s..s..s...see that?"
He looked around, there was no one there.
The police station was empty.
Almost immediately, everything outside the station turned pitch black. He looked outside and was stunned.
There was a woman outside, radiating a golden glow like the Sun, beautiful, more beautiful than anyone he had ever seen.
"IT WILL BE TIME SOON, LORD. TIME FOR YOU TO JOIN HIM, HE WILL NOT BE NEEDING YOUR POWER, NO, BUT YOUR COMPANIONSHIP AND GUIDANCE. AFTER ALL, HE IS BUT A DEMIGOD, UNTIL HE FULLY ACCEPTS HIMSELF. YOU SHALL GUIDE HIM! REMEMBER YOUR PAST LIFE, HOW YOU HARNESSED THE POWER OF THE HOLY TRINITY AND TRANSCENDED BEYOND THE POWER OF THE GODS, FOR YOU WERE THE ONE WHO SUCCEEDED MORE THAN ANYONE! HE MIGHT SUCCEED WITHOUT YOU, MAYBE NOT! BUT WITH YOU HE IS GUARANTEED TO GUIDE HUMANITY TO A BETTER FUTURE, FOR NOW HE IS NEEDED MORE SO THAN EVER!"
It was her! The woman who had come to the station.
"But wait, what are you talking about? Past life! I don't understand! Help who? Guide who? What Holy Trinity!"
The woman looked at him and smiled.
"ALL IN GOOD TIME, MY LORD!"
Even though her voice was loud, it was calming.
The glow started collecting and vanishing inside her as if she were sucking all of it! Suddenly, Sangrām was back in the station, sitting at his desk.
"SHIVAM!" shouted Sangrām with anger.
"Yessir!"
A frightened Manoj came to him.
"Yes, sir?"
"Where is that woman?"
Shivam looked confused.
"What woman sir?"
"The woman who is coming to the station for the past few days, who had a missing son!"
"Umm...sir, what sir?"
"The one who turned to blood a few minutes back!"
"Uh...what sir?"
"PIYUSH!"
Piyush came to him almost instantaneously.
"Am I audible?"
"Yes, sir." said Piyush.
"Are you able to understand what I'm saying?" said Sangrām with a snide tone.
"Of course, sir."
SMACK!
Sangrām stood up and slapped Shivam.
"S....sir?"
Shivam looked at him questioningly.
"Saale pike mat aya karo duty pe! (You scoundrel don't drink and come to work!)"
"But sir..."
"But what?"
"Bewdo jaisi to ap baatein kar rahe ho. (You are the one talking like a drunkard)"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, sir! Who turns to blood?"
"BLOOD!!'" exclaimed Piyush.
"I think I need to go home and rest."
"Whatever you need sir."
"Piyush, you keep an eye on this fucker. I'm going home early, I think I need some sleep."
"YES, SIR!"
"And I'm hoping the both of you can take care of duties while I'm gone for the day?"
"Yes, sir!"
"Okay. Good night."
