I only see him 5 minutes a day-Total.
He gets on & off at the train terminal across from me.
I don't know where he's going, where he comes from, what he does, what he likes.
I don't even know his name.
But I find that day by day, I learn something...

MAY 15, 20XX FRIDAY
"How's our baby?" Taehyung coos through the video chat.
I call over Taennie who is still busy exploring around my room, not yet familiar with it.
His little feet scurry over and I bend down to scoop him up for Taehyung to see.
Taehyung immediately lights up and starts complimenting our cute Taennie.
"I hope he hasn't caused you any problems."
I try to contain the hyper dog in my arms, but finally give up and let him move around on the bed. I turn back my attention to Taehyung with a little hiccup of a giggle.
"Taennie is perfect so hurry back to us."
Taehyung laughs while covering his mouth. "You got it. Surgery is actually tomorrow night."
What?
That soon?
"To..mor..row?" The blood pounds in my ears.
Taehyung picks at the blanket. "There's a tumor that caused the Lesions, but don't worry. I'm okay."
He doesn't take my silence all to well and starts calling my name. I snap back to attention.
"Nothings going to happen." Taehyung gives me a look.
"Taehyung, next week are finals... couldn't they have...."
Let him finish?
Get his semester done with?
Given us a little more time?
What if he doesn't make it?
It takes everything within me not to cry.
Because tomorrow he might not be here.
"It's just a simple surgery," he laughs and I soak in that image, a boxy grin that causes his eyes to turn into half-moons.
"As long as I think about us..."
I bring Taennie into my arms to bury my face into him.
