FRIDAY
'MIDNIGHT'

A sneak out of the house and a bus ride later, I now stood in front of the station.

Taehyung is already there waiting. He's leaning against the wall with his arms folded across his chest and this grin that just causes the butterflies to flutter chaotically in my stomach.

He gets off the wall and walks over until he's right in front of me.

"Hi beautiful. I'm Kim Taehyung, your date for the night." He winks and holds out his hand.

I can't help but mimic his grin. "I'm Kim Jennie. What do you have planned for us at this crazy hour?"

He laughs and pulls out a paper.
"How long do you have? I have a list."

I take the list into my hands and read it, amazed that there was so much on it. "You have a bucket list?"

"I never had the perfect person to go and do everything...until now."

I look up into his eyes and blush from his gaze.

"C'mon. It's a long list and we only have about 6 hours until morning!"

"Six hours?!" My jaw drops. Taehyung laughs and grabs my hand before running, he pays for our entry, and then pulls me up to catch the train just before it leaves.

---
Taehyung and I didn't accomplish much on the list. Not even close. But we did have the best night of our lives.

We were walking downtown, half an hour away from our small town. There was still nightlife at 4 in the morning. People were eating, vending, drinking, dancing, and shopping.

"What do you go to school for?" Taehyung sways our hands as we walk past food stalls.

"I'm preparing to be a veterinarian. You?"

"Ooh. You love animals?"

"I do."

"I'm majoring in photography."

I raise my eyebrows. "What about the sketches you do?"

"I do have to take courses in drawing. Photography majors don't always focus on the camera. Maybe you can be my model for some shoots I do." He stops by a food stall starts ordering us Pajeon.

I just watch him the whole time. My heart feels so full. As if I was craving for a night like this. A night filled with adventure with the perfect person. Is this what finding your other half is like?

"Jennie?" Taehyung snaps me out of my thoughts and hands me a piece of the pancake in a napkin.

I smile as I take it in my hands.  "Sorry."

He laughs and starts eating with me as we continue walking on. "Cats or dogs?"

I stick my tongue out, "Dogs, definitely."

"Good answer." He nods and leads me to a park nearby.

I laugh. "Everything I've said has been a good answer to you. What would be a bad answer?"

He chews and hums in thought, breaking apart our hands to brush off the bench for us. "No to seeing the sunrise."

"Is that on your list? Because we did about 5 that weren't." I tease him as I sit down.

"Yes it is. 'See the Sunrise with Jennie Kim'."

I give him a look that tells him I don't believe him.

"Well...'see the sunrise with the perfect girl'." He bumps my shoulder and takes my hand in his again.

I can't do anything but just stare at him with such happiness. Never in my life have I met someone like him. I have sat through enough heartbreaks with Rose, Lisa, and Jisoo to understand that guys like Taehyung are hard to find.

Taehyung throws away our empty napkins just as the sun peaks up. I smile as I stare at it.

"Pretty." Taehyung's low voice says in the morning's silence.

"Yeah, it-" I turn to him and get caught off guard to notice that he wasn't looking at the sunrise. He was looking at me. It brings me back to the Halloween dance party.

"No. You're pretty." He whispers as he starts to lean in.

My eyes flutter close.

And he softly places his lips over mine.
