MAY 22, 20XX
FridayToday was the last day of my final exams and I had no sleep for them.
I pat my sore eyeballs.
Did you really have to cry all night, Jennie?!
I climb up the stairs feeling so stressed out.
Knowing Yeri, she was going to take the credit for giving Taehyung closure.
I'm not sure whether the doctor was able to make Taehyung feel better about his gut feeling. Afterall, there was no cure for cancer.
I take my usual spot on the bench and wait to see if Taehyung will make it up the stairs today.
He does.
He was biting his nail as he slowly made his way up the stairs.
He doesn't bother looking my way as he also sits on a bench.
Leaning against my hand, I watch him.
He begins to look in his bag and pulls out a pen. He places it in his mouth while he digs out a notebook.
Turning it landscape style, he starts scribbling onto it.
Curious, I keep on watching him as he flips page after page.
He finally snaps his head up to make eye contact with me.
Startled, I sit up and look back.
He chuckles softly and holds the notebook up.
"I know it was you."
I tilt my head, not knowing what he was talking about.
He puts down the notebook to flip the page, a difficult task with one free hand.
"The donation?"
"Right before surgery?"
"It was what I had been praying for."
I start to tear up, but don't do anything to wipe them away.
"It just had to have something to do with you."
"Doesn't it?"
I close my eyes to wipe my face with my hands.
My eyes dart back to him. He tilts his head and smiles.
"I know you still love me."
"So, I'll get you back."
