Luna was most definitely, bananas.

Moon had barely gotten inside when she stomped up to her and proceeded to prod and assess her. She may have only been two heads taller than Moon and the size of an elephant – but Moon still cowered in her presence as if she radiated unknown power.

"You'll be rooming with me, it seems." Luna huffed, flicking her long light blue hair over her shoulder. Moon admired her hair, and hoped she could grow it just as long.

"But I have ground rules" Luna continued, holding her stomach. "You'll be sleeping on a mat by my bed. Don't complain—you're not pregnant."

"Yes, Luna." Moon nodded, bowing politely.

"That's Miss Luna, to you," she corrected. Then she paused, looking Moon up and down. "You're a sorceress, aren't you?" She raised an eyebrow.

"...Yes," Moon mumbled, averting her gaze.

"Give me your wand—you have no use for it whilst you're here" She held out her hand expectantly.

Moon hesitated, feeling her cheeks heat up in embarrassment, before reluctantly taking out her wand.

Luna gasped. "That looks... royal."

"I'm not a Royal," Moon said, shaking her head.

Luna stiffened. "Perhaps not. But if your wand looks like that... come with me." She grabbed Moon's hand.

She led her to her room - which wasn't very big - and locked the door.

"What's all this about?" Moon narrowed her eyes at Luna, who looked at her anxiously.

"Well, you know how the Royals were overthrown? And that they had to go into hiding?"

"Yeah," Moon said, furrowing her eyebrows. What was she trying to say?

Luna took a deep breath, gave the girl a stern glare. "You are not allowed to tell anyone about this. If you dare, I will not hesitate to have your head cut off and delivered to me on a silver platter."

Moon nodded hastily, believing every word of the threat. She then gestured to her lip, mimicking the act of zipping something up.

Luna sighed, shook her head as if she was having second thoughts, before deciding to tell her.

"I'm carrying King Río's child."

Moon did a double take, jaw dropping to the floor. "...You're carrying whose child?!" she nearly shrieked.

"Shhhh!" Luna clapped a hand over Moon's mouth. "The Duke and Duchess don't know."

Moon stilled, and Luna removed her hand. Moon breathed deeply as confusion set in.

"Why did you tell me, again?"

"...Because if your wand looks like a Royal wand, and I have the crown princess inside of me, then you can do me a favor."

Moon didn't question Luna's assumption that the baby was going to be a girl—all Royal Mariposa descendants were girls. But Luna wasn't a Mariposa. This, however, did not stop her offspring from being female.

"What kind of favour?" Moon narrowed her eyes at her.

"Look, I'm in hiding. I'm very lucky that the Duke let me stay here. I just told them that I was running away from my family because I had fallen pregnant. But I'm running because the monsters who killed King Río are after me."

"So... you're not a Royal?" Moon raised an eyebrow.

"Proud Mewmen." Luna frowned. "But the child inside of me is the Princess," she hissed eyes slanted in desperation. "It will be time soon to give birth—but if the Duke and Duchess see that the baby has cheek marks and not me, they could figure it out that she has magical blood inside her. And that only means Royal, or Sorcerer. And since I don't have those genetic marks, they'll work out that the baby is the Princess."
